well mines a cl block i think, may be mk3 golf block because it has a golf ported and polleshed head , gt cam , 1.4 injector throttle boddy etc and ecu , and elow like on a gt going to a decent cone filter with cold feed , may get a diff lock soon or new box , what would u advise ?

On the side face of the block - that flat visible section under the thermostat housing,just above the gearbox. You'll probably have to rub it with some fine sand paper to get the number to show up,and get a light on it even in daylight.

a mate of mine locked the diff on his g60 drag car, drove ok on the road till he tried to prk or go slow round tight corners...

Right, couple of things from me as veedub123 turned up to the Mids Meet today;

1) Having compared with the engine in B-Shaw's Mk3, I can confirm its a 1.3 SPI with what seems to be a golf air filter and aftermarket cone setup, along with stupid amounts of gasket sealant around the manifold where he's 'smoothed' it

2) I easily left it for dust in my diesel powered three pot; not really pushing that hard but he went backwards when we convoyed to 2nd location, Yeti can confirm that he was pushing hard

3) He hardly talked to anyone at the meet today, talked to people for the grand total of 5 mins I reckon at the first venue (in and out of his car three or four times where he was watching a film) and never even bothered to come into the pub with us at the second venue

4) On the convoy subject, dude you were DANGEROUSLY close to me the whole bloody way, have you not been in a convoy before, I was going slow to allow others to catch up after going through roundabouts etc. and when we came off the dual carriageway to turn towards Wolverhampton, I caught a glimpse of you braking so hard that the car rocked back and forth; Yeti said he thought you were going to hit me, I swear if you had, I'd have proper kicked off at you...

To summarise, Grade A Class 1 Bulls**ter who drives like a cock

On topic, best I've managed is drilling off the top nut/thread of my standard shocks at 11.30 to fit my coilies (couldnt really drive with one side -100mm)..

.. the neighbours loved that lol.

if that car ever made 88bhp what is the point. there are thousands of cars in scrapyards in way better condition, it truly is the most hangin mk3 polo i have EVER seen.

even the legendary greenmachine from dougy was in better condition, at least the 1" of filler was smooth and painted
