Damn right man ;)

I am VERY happy with these headlights.

In my opinion, these are the only aftermarket headlights that arent totally embarrasing :p

Due to the fact that you see totally crappy cars with xenon headlights nowadays, I decided that going with Yellow bulbs would be much cooler.

Jarno was nice enough to give me some Polybushings for my rear suspension and for my front antiroll-bar for my birthday:D

(see below)

He also had a nice set of MK5 rear lights lying around that he sold to me for a very good price

and we managed to get 8 KILOS of shit out of my car (door cards, seatbelts from the back that arent in use, rear windscreen wiper motor, etc)

Anyway, enough of the talk, here are the photos!

I gave Jarno a gift to say 'Thanks' for all the help he has given me

DSC03009.jpg

AND what does the guy do?

Immediately abuses him

DSC03006.jpg

The car neeeeeeeeeeeeeds to be cleaned properly.. I will wait for another few weeks, and do a proper job detailing it.

Once that has been done Ill post some glamour shots ;)

P.S. Andy, and Tris: Thanks for the kind words! Its always good to know that people actually watch the vids I post

Many thanks for the support;)

Jarno: Thanks again for being a total Held;)

what headlights are they? where did u get them man?

They are called FK powerlooks

they come in 'chrome' and black. Chrome looks pretty cheap to be honest, so id suggest going for the black ones, as they look a bit more OEM than the others

You can find them here

But please do notice that these are for left hand driven cars! Since Rin and i live and drive in Holland it's no problem for us to use them, but I'm guessing you Brits will get into trouble with the coppers or MOT with these.

Chrome looks pretty cheap to be honest,

How dare you :p

I was torn between chrome or black when choosing mine, but thought black might look a bit much on a silver car.

They do make the car look a bit younger :-)

And Jarno that's true, just have to aim the lights carefully. Nearly three years on and I've still never been flashed by an oncoming car! And that's with HIDs..

Hey guys! another update.

Had another track day.. very aggressive drivers, so I had to really push it.

Many BMW E36's needed to be taught that Polo 6n's are to be taken seriously;)

Video will come out in a few weeks, when I can be bothered to edit it:p

was involved in a crash though!

you will see on the film, but basically I came around a corner, right when two cars crashed into each other, when one car started driving on the exit-line of the turn (right in my path)

I hit the brakes, and saw the guy behind me going sideways

I let go of the brakes, and veered off of the track.

I was the ONLY car who made it through okay, without any damage. both people infront of me were fhackt, and the guy behind me hit the barrier.

Years of go-karting has proved to be worth its while, as I didnt panic, i just drove off of the course;)

Small update:

Painted my slicks

In other news, I got pulled by the police (as I was testing my camera mount on the side of my car) a week ago.

It was an undercover Audi a4.. they wanted to know why they werent able to keep up with me, and asked to see my engine.

:(

they said that on my car papers had 75hp on it, and that because I chagned my engine, I have to re-register my car with the officials:(

will be tough stuff:(

BUT i got that all on video as well haha

haha yea, when I saw that I forgot it there, i was like, 'Shit... oh well, its a ghetto G-meter i suppose'

Rin, Amazing. keep it on the track though aye :p

ah thanks man:p

I almost always drive responsibly on the roads;) I dont like living up to the 'young guy in a small car' stereotype.

But yea, sometimes.. the road calls and the car needs to stretch its legs:p

good video, the thing hanging off your mirror is annoying tho!

i know:( fhaaaaack

I read your topic all through and I must say I'm impressed :) People underestimate Polo as a race car, but it's good to have people like you to prove them wrong :D I especially liked the movie with a Skyline :D

Thanks man!

I love small cars, and love how people tend to underestimate them.

(not sure if I mentioned before) but at my track, one of my old colleagues, Olaf Commijs (who competes in international drifing) was in a mustang GT (300/hp and 300ft/lb).

Due to paperwork reasons that day, I had to have a pace car infront of me, but because he knew me, I told him, 'Olav, dont go slow okay, I know the track'...

It was great, although the Mustang pulled away on the straights, I caught up to him on the turns, so our lap time was about the same (no he wasnt drifting that day haha).

In any event, the Porsche guys on the track that day got a good laugh I'm sure...Moving over for a big Mustang, followed by a Polo right behind him!

Little update too,

Got some wheels (ATS Cups i believe) .. they're like 3rd hand, and pretty damaged on the lip, but I dont really give a shit.

Only problem is that I am scrubbing at the rear:(

Going to see Jarno6n today, who will help me raise my rear suspension.

Also, getting the car registered as road-legal tomorrow... wish me luck guys! Ill need it.

You sir are an inspiration, norty boy for not registering the new engine but you've been penisalised so its all good.

Some of those drivers are pretty poor or just pushing too hard in cars not setup properly, big lol @ the line the R5 took through the chicane.

I love the fact that your mrs comes along for the ride, fantastic stuff and a cracking video!

Thanks man:)! My exGf wouldnt ever want to come...(partly the reason why I broke up with her)...My 'new' gf on the other hand is all over it!

I will marry this one, i swear:)

But Yea, exactly.. I've had alot of times where I've passed cars and thought, 'That should have been very difficult' but I suppose alot of it comes down to driving skill, really.

My cousin has 'the beast'(suzuki Wagon R+) and i have taught him how to drive it well enough to surprise many people:)

Your car is your limit, but many people need to learn alot before they can fully reach 'the limit' of their car...whether its a crappy Wagon R+, a quickish polo, or a Ferrari.

Mini legal update:

Got my car OK'd today, BUT i was an idiot and left my car-papers at home (typical).

I put my old stock rims on, with 4 new dunlop tires.

The ones in back are 175/50/r13, so Arch-gap ftl.

Maybe this weekend Ill lower the back a bit, and put my own custom downpipe (loud) and de-cat pipe back.

Ill include a few photos of how the car looks now:)

What a stunning car mate! Put alot of work into it and looks like youve had alot of joy out of it! Keep it up!

Absolutely amazing!!

Shame those BMWs wouldn't get out of the way!

A lot of useless drivers on the film!

Great driver, Great cars and Great vids!!!

This is awesome :)

Always wondered though, if you were gunna put the GTI engine in, why didnt you start with a 3door? I always thought they were lighter...

Keep up the good work though mate

Thanks man!

Best take a look at how the story began on page 1 ;)

When I bought the car from my stepmom, i had no idea the engine was going to blow within the first 15 min of the student gumball rally :p

The swap came when VW wanted over 3 grand for replacing the 75Hp engine.

A small update (and ill get better photos when I get the chance).

Due to damage from the previous owner from a few years before I had it (either my step mom or the dealership owners wife), the side skirt had been damaged and it began to develop rust a few months back.

I decided to paint the skirt, and a small bit of the rear bumper matte black (and it seems to have worked real well:) )

Here is a photo 40941_417156185898_567150898_5250303_196

I have also removed the bump strip on the passenger side BUT one of my friends was a bit too enthusiastic with the drivers side, and while pulling off the strip on my drivers door, removed a big chunk of paint :( :(

Recently had another track day at Zandvoort (no video this time guys :( sorry).

Started off as the first car in this session, and was only passed by a swapped E30 race car of some sort, and a yellow lotus elise that I managed to stick with for a bit.

40446_1420483756505_1365000123_31275263_

Here am I on the starting line for the second session:

39078_1420485116539_1365000123_31275288_

Ill get some more photos soon of the side strip, etc.

:)

i just wanna say well done! a great story and a even better car!!

I have also removed the bump strip on the passenger side BUT one of my friends was a bit too enthusiastic with the drivers side, and while pulling off the strip on my drivers door, removed a big chunk of paint :( :(

Well, If you heat the strips properly, the glue doesn't stick to the paint as it should and it's much easier to get rid of the bump strips :) The last strip I was taking off my car took me 3 seconds after I heated it :p I'm waiting for new vids, cuz I enjoy watching you race :D Cheers :)
