And made a start for the gearbox for the saloon. Thought I'd give this a go..

Put high temp silver paint as a primer, sprayed some capri green on, then some high temp engine laquer on top. Came out quite nice, whether it'll last is a different matter.

Changed my mind again, the saloons getting a 1341, colour coded the block

Had to do some maths for the compos in the berg arches today. After some head scratching....

Decided I wanted around 8Jish around et5 and a bit wider for the back. Found some matey with a shed full of dishes.

The hub face sticks proud of the rear mounting face for the inner dish by 17mm. So with a 4" inner and outter with the center (1/2") sandwiched, it would be 8J et-17. I had a few inners and outters already, decided for a 5" inner and 2 3/4" outter for the front, making it 7.75J and an et of 5. And a 4.5 inner and 4" outter for the rear making 8.5J and an et of -17. Should fill the arches nicely. :-D

Then give/sell those powdercoated compo's to me....sorted

Been so busy I'd almost forgotten I had polos to build.

Still cant decide what to do with what. The saloons too mint to butcher. Going to test the 1341 turbo in the parade for the moment anyway as I'm bored of not having a boosted polo. Put some Fk coilies on it, new g40 bottom and steering arms and towed it to the workshop. The engines been sitting on the foor pretty much built for the last 3 months so I'm gonna chuck it in tomorrow with any luck.

Bought another pointless shed as well, it was cheap, I didnt even look at it and the headgaskets gone :lol:

Hard to find a tidy one anyway! Although despite the HG on its way, it went straight through its mot only needing a windscreen and the stupid brake light in the rear window taking out. Cant argue with that really so its going to be the daily hack for the mo. Might chuck the 1.3 from the saloon in it if it stays.

Anyway, one engine dropped in place, probably not going to get a chance to finish it for a bit though.

Been catching up slowly now anyway. Giving the cosworth some love today. Whole back end rebuild, bloody thing effectively has 8 polo like track control arms on the back, 2 arb drop links, and 4 subframe bushes. Looking forward to driving that again. I think RWD is winning me over again.

I can't see what's wrong with the coilovers, is that bad?

Should the rears have a second threaded nut to stop the spring seat moving, is that what's missing?

Or are they for a Mk1 Golf or something?

CE is still smoking although not quite as much. Took it for a long spanking over the weekend, it was fun, snapped the bloody arb bracket again. That needs some doctoring, found another turbo kit so I'm gonna chuck the new turbos from that on it. Then rally it some more untill the bodywork literally falls apart, all the arches have cracked from the abuse. I love that car, so do the police though :lol:

My mates trying to persuade me to put the spare 24v engine and turbo kit from the coupe out the back in the 190. 3/400kgs lighter than the CE.
