Cyclists - Again!

Featured Replies

Usual car drivers lol, think they own the roads.

The thing to bear in mind is that we all have to tolerate each other. You see stupidity from all groups.

Cyclists can do what they want as far as I am concerned, they shouldnt have to have insurance or awt. The fact is that if they are riding dangerously its their problem, they would have a job killing someone else. Its their lives at risk.

Not a cyclist BTW! I cant be arsed, but I wish i could. Costs nothing and you can filter through traffic.

i totally support cyclists riding 2 or 3 abreast.

if the obstruction was a tractor or moped doing 30mph you wouldnt try and fit between it and the lorry coming toward you nearly clipping it with your mirror but it seems people are quite happy to just try and squeeze past a single cyclist. the 2 abreast thing is to get the retard drivers to overtake when its safe.

now horses on roads, dont get me started!

thats right, its 2008 and some weird people still feel the need to ride animals up the road, WTF?

Horses

I see your point about two abreast. Personally if i was aware of traffic out on my bike with someone else i would drop back or take a lead, so as not to cause an "unnecessary obstruction", however too many drivers do not allow enough room, for oncoming traffic if not for the cyclist or obstacle being overtaken.

I hate horses on the road tbh, a women riding a horse before thought that she would shout fuck off at me and stick her two finger up at me just because I went past her at low revs with an k&n air filter which makes hardley any noise. If they dont like it then get off the roads, its not as if its illegal.

Rant over

And as for the cyclist rant its just going to keep going round in circles with peoples different views.

The romans started building the A5,with the first section at Fenny Stratford and leading towards London, over 1,959 years ago. Back in 49ad. Yet the mentality of some people here would suggest they think the A5,eventually linking London to Angelsey Island, was made for the car.

Given that cars wern't invented until circa 1,840 years later, they may be misguided.

Nah the Romans were just a very forward thinking civilization

I'm also a cyclist, but i cant speak for other towns. Here in MK we dont cycle on the roads,as MK's roads are a seperate network from the pedestrian/cycleway system. This keeps cycles, people, children etc away from the roads.

Only problem is,there's always some homer who decides to cycle on the roads - and because they're the only cyclist in the city doing so,they're nearly getting hit every six vehicles because the drivers dont expect to see them. :retard:

my dads old mechainic used to cycle to work and was killed on an mk roundabout by a lorry that didnt see him.

:-(

people should use cycle paths provided!

and dont get me started on horses...

Lot of opinions here, I may have touch a sensitive nerve. All I'm saying is that there is some proper bad cyclists out there and have no idea of how seriously hurt they can do to themselves and others. Also there's some inconsiderate drivers out there as well, not giving enough room for cyclists and pulling out in front of them, etc

Sadly however in my area and from what I've seen there is more bad cyclists out here in Aberdeen than good, no signalling, not using the cycle lane and cycling in middle of the road, with no lights or a helmet for that matter and cycling through red lights.
