if the gearbox does go, there is a way to get it re-built properly so it wont happen again.

from whai i understand most go thru the diff ripping itself apart due to it being bolted rather than riveted together, did some reseach into this when i was gonna put my polo gti engine into a mk3.

basically get reading up. there are ways an means.

MK5 GTI is a good choice tbh. Look great from the outside, lovely to be in, drive well the only thing is there a bit under powered but who cares, anymore power and it would just eat the gearbox :p :p :p

am happy with the power...its my daily, does 60 in 8 seconds and pulls well at motorway speeds

There not slow like, my mate Phil had one and we saw 130 on the clocks in it. Be less than that, but more than you need realistically.

nah mate, it was owned by a lady then a guy in worksop had it for 2 years

all he put on was coilovers n odd bits, never had any other wheels on

its very different

speed wise..yeah it picks up well...noticeable on the motorway, just got more to give...

cornering....the GT felt fast around corners, you dont realise how fast your going round corners in this!

ride, its great, cant fault it to say its on coilovers...very different

creature comforts, its nice to have good heating the choice of temperature and aircon e.t.c, xenons are great never thought i was guna be impressed by headlights....i miss my GT leather recaro's and go kart feel tho
