Interesting mix of styles with this,a lot of the purists don't like the elephant foot beetles but I think attitudes are changing and parts are more available for all beetles now. I would go for more period styling though.

At the end of the day slammed they look great anyway. They should all come with a welder nowadays but this looks pretty solid. I don't mind the yellow either. Will be great in the summer with the rag top.

I'm dad hand painted the full shell in a nice gold hammer finnished about 30years ago. and to be fair as odd as it sounds its not that bad on the eye lol and just looks like crazy orange peel.

i must say its tough stuff as its kepted the metal work safe for all these years.

the front end has been striped down so i was just going to redo it and brush the hammeright on but the gold is now obsolete.

il see if iv got a pic of it

You would cavity wax in any inner box sections, inside skins of doors, boots, bonnets with a long probe. The bilt hamber stuff comes with a meter long probe which is ideal. (no dirty stuff please, lol)

Never really thought about how you would treat things like heater channels, I suppose they can/should be treated internally because they get hot and cold and are most susceptible to rust.

I'm in a position where I've been reading up about Beetles buying mags and books etc but I'm financially not able to get one at the mo I've not walked the walk if you know what I mean.

Anyway looks great anyway.
