haha my poor petrol polo ran on unleded from my frends boat he dident tell me his boat was a 2stroke and he had mixed 2stroke oil into the feul he filled my car up with it went a little slower and a bit of smoke but was fine

Its a variation of kerosene,i think its called 28 second kerosene. I work on oil boilers every so often, love the smell of it

one of the places i worked for ran out of diesel somewhere in greece, couldnt find anywhere to get more, so mixed 100 octane shell race fuel with used engine oil.

ran alright, but smoked like a bitch even when running on diesel... permenant dameage methinks...

just buy pump diesel and enjoy the mpg.

Theoretically, gasoline is a btter fuel for diesel- type (ie. compression- ignition) engines, but you'd need either a specially- made or very heavily modified engine...

Don't try it with your standard oil burner- it'll go pop..

competely depends what age/ engine it is.

my mate (this isnt just a 'my mate' story, this actualy happened) ran his 306 1.9dt on a mix of about 20-25% petrol for literaly months. he never, not once had any problems except with starting and that was rare. most older diesels (and not going back too long only 10 15 years) will run on pretty much anything, tutor at college has an old laguna he used to chuck in anything he could get his hands on including white spirit (!) veg oil of various quality and some nut oil stuff he found. ok it ran like a bag of shit but he had done well over 60k of treating it like this.

agreed probly best not to do it to modern commonrail engines and id especially avoid in PD engines lol

how about you try and do some homework when you have worked out how the two engines work then you will have a clear idea you will see that the two engines ignite the fuel in 2 different ways

want something cheaper than diesel try water! thats probably about as much good for the engine as petrol! lol
