Ok folks, a bit of a blast from the past here :p

This project got put on hold for a bit when my dad took sick then the Polo **** the bed and it was the priority but I've tinkered here and there with the chop and as soon as the Polo is done it'll be sorted.

Since I last updated I've primed and painted the frame and the other bits like the yokes, plate holder, forwards etc (no pics of it painted yet altho although they're done satin black):

Also got the tank filled and rubbed down:

And the engine mostly polished (before and after):

Next I'll be clearing out my home garage to get wiring the bike and then I'll fill the rear guard and get painting it and putting it together.

dam your very skilled for such a young person

love it mate :) something different hah looks top

I love how XS650 chops became such a cliché but now a few years down the line its all coming back.

I too grew up around this stuff, ally slab yokes and 12" overs. Springers made out of twisted square bar lol.

It looks pretty cool, personally I would shorten the fork tubes a bit so the bottom rails sit level.

My dad builds custom bikes, has done since '81. For some reason I never really caught the bug, I was always getting dragged round picking up zed thou's and XS1100's and crap like that which was next for the chop, I've probably seen more pike nuts than you could shake a stick at.

My dads into his harley stuff though really, this is the last bike he built. Makes his own cast lug frames and replica springers.

But all the stuff i like the best never seems to get finished, probably because he knows I would just ride it all the time, like this half baked 45...

Haha, its good to find someone else who knows what a pike nut is lol. I'm talking of PROPER pike nuts too haha.

I dont know whats happened to that 45, someone bought it like it is in that pic, no doubt I will see it about. Its easy enough to spot cos there aint a bought part on it, my dad made the frame and springers, and the seat, and the rear 'guard, and the handlebars lol. Plus its got a BSA gearbox! and wheel hubs off a yammy SR250 haha.

I'll definatly be shortening the fork tubes. I hate the rails not running level with the ground.

PM me if you ever need a set and I will see what I can do. Dont tell everyone though lol.

He used to make springers for Zodiac in the 80's till they found out he was selling them a lot cheaper to his own customers and they banned him haha.
