just a suggestion but due to the recent rise in scammers in the for sale section of the forum how about adding an approved sellers list that only admin and mods can edit upon a completed purchase

edit- and mabye a seller rating on their profile

That would be a HUGE task! The mods and admin do have a social life you know, they aint Monks who can spent all day making lists and copying bibles.

A simple sellers feedback thread or something wouldnt go a miss for sure

not really about common sense isit, unless the ad is just plain dodgey but if someone comes on the site an has a legit ad but then takes payment and does a runner how was the buyer supposed to know?

the trade section is based on trust

a feedbacb / star rating thing would be great, I've seen it on a few other forums where you get a trade think on your profile to the right so it would be like

How would you prove you have sold something?

guess that would complicate things for the admins

once a thread starter in the for sale section has closed the thread and has submitted the item to be sold he/she will type in the name of the buyer and then they would give each other a feedback score

i didnt really think of that lol but sure someone may have ideas to add lol

this is a great idea....it could make clubpolo clean of any scammers which would be great

if you dont trust them, dont buy from them! either that or collect the item. theres other clues to like post count, someone with a decent post count is more likely to be trustworthy, than a newby with 6 posts to their name. also if you do the transaction through paypal you have some protection against this sort of scam

as above would be great, and i dont mean to be rude when i say this but it wouldnt be that much of a task to add this sort of thing and it'll ease peoples minds a bit more when buying or selling

yeh but that can be easily by-passed by clicking through the photo-vid gallery and posting a quick 'nice job', 'looks good' comment on each thread

we got that iTrader thing on CCUK. really good thing to look at when purchasing and selling and does help alot to also avoid scammers! maybe worth looking into mods and admin

That Punto forum is very blury, about as usable as an Italian car in winter.

That said it's common on a lot of tech forums with sales (scamming seems more common there than on car ones) and sort of works, if you look for patterns so you don't end up with one user with half a dozen accounts just giving positive feedback to each other to get the numbers up then going on a scamming spree.

if you click it it gets better lol

I agree with ginge, would be a huge task and it's still gonna be the he said she said bullshit and then wrongful neagtive comments left on each party

Let Ebay have all the hassle of people buying & selling stuff, we're here to swap tech stuff, bit of banter, organise a few meets and any buying and selling is done under good faith and at buyer & sellers own discrection.

Personally you just make sure you use your common sense when buying & selling. Putting a feedback system in place I think would cause too much of a work load for the admin/mod team.

there job done lol or just use your common sense, i did a bank transfer to hayesey on here, i was well apprehensive about doing this but basically just looked around at his other posts and made sure he was a genuine guy.

tbh i wouldnt really wanna be buying off a guy whose only just joined or even if theyve been here years and got a low post count. i tend to just deal with the guys who are on here each day and interact with the rest of the forum
