Doesn't seem like anyone is getting anywhere here... Considering this was a decision amongst supposedly "all the other admins" It seems strange that only one of them has had any say in this topic... And another thing, I find it pretty shoddy that this topic about asking the members their views on it, so as long as those who hav paid you like the idea, so will everyone else?

Well this topic is your answer, No.

Even if there any active scammers out there right now they will simply offer transactions outside of clubpolo, even by PM, much like the thousands of transactions/agreements/swaps made outside of eBay.

such a stupid idea!

what about the people who come on here to look for polos for sale?? paid members already have a polo so they dont want to buy another :?

iv been browsing the wheels section for ages trying to find a set that i like and now i cant view it, not exactly fair is it

and I'm not going to pay £5 for something that will never arrive! you're the ones scamming us

but if i need to sell something now i will have to post it in other sections i surpose, seeing as i cant actually see a section for me to sell stuff in :-)

who do i pay

Me. I'm not one of those nasty scammers - I'm a club member!

What a fucking joke this is!!

DKnight its a shit idea face it mate......

Why charge people to view the for sale section as that is basically whats happening. I dont want a shitty sticker or a members pack so all i will get for my £5 is the right to view a for sale section on a forum which is supposed to accomodate the vw scene.

"Second of all, I posted in the member section, asking the opinion of the members. Who thought it'd be a good idea" yeah because they dont have to pay again, common sense would be appreciated

What a mess this 'idea' has turned into.....totally cutting sellers target audience in half if not by more...so for those members who thought it a good idea obviously dont share many brain cells between them

What about my items that were for sale and I was halfway through selling?

This is absolutely ludicrous!

Who is making these stupid decisions? At least give some notice!

This is a stupid idea so paying £5 covers u if you get scammed? and admin gonna take responsibilty for it? anyone could sign up for £5 and scam thousands of pounds of people i dont see how this is a clever idea? as other members have said why not put a feedback system in place to give buyers and sellers peace of mind? I've sold some bits of here and to say the least each buyer has been very happy with my communication and service, i think its a wrong way to go about getting rid of the scammers, as there are genuine sellers and buyers on here

You're not understanding the concept...

The idea is:

Scammers will realise that the for sale section is no longer open to public view.

They will soon move on to other sites where the for sale/wanted sections are more easily accessible.

In the past, scammers have PM'd users rather than posting in the thread, so therefore pointless making just disabling the reply option.

If scammers can not view, they cannot PM offering parts at discount prices.

It's a 5er, it helps the club, hosting isn't free, organising a show isn't free.

Alot of people who say they've paid months ago etc. haven't even pm'd a member of staff to politely chase it up.

Where do all these £5's go???

Do they pay the scammers to come on the forum so more people sign up as members

:o

TBH i think the mods/admins should change it back to how it was and any buyers should air extreme caution when buying, ask 100 questions if needs be.

pics, address, dealt with anyone on here before?, etc. Any slight hint of curiosity don't deal or like i said air extreme caution and contact the mods/admins as they've already said.

they won't move on now you just told them the whole bloody plot!!!!

it is a shite idea, but i say it everytime, its the admin's decisions at end of day, its their playground.

I am just trying to explain why it is a bad idea, and why it wont work

oh and if they still want to stick with it, give us a week to plan for it....

I find it pretty shoddy that this topic about asking the members their views on it, so as long as those who hav paid you like the idea, so will everyone else?

Members pay for the site hosting, as far as I see, they have more say than anyone else.

Scammers will realise that the for sale section is no longer open to public view.

They will soon move on to other sites where the for sale/wanted sections are more easily accessible.

If the scammer is intelligent enough to be selling specific Polo items to Polo enthusiasts, there's not really many other places they're going to turn to, is there.

The negative repercussions of this decision FAR outweigh the positive ones!
