i think i speak for everyone i "heart" Chrispy

Just like buying through e-bay or auto trader, it's "buyer beware", and its up to you to investigate the item for sale. Most sales on Club Polo are successful, however there will always be a small minority that fall through or may be fraudulent. Club Polo cannot be held liable for these, we are acting only as a showcase for the free advertisements of cars and parts owned by our members. Any arguments you have before during or after will be with the seller/buyer and them alone.

There you go.

this is getting immense  hopefully a solution will be found

ok is someone gona open the classifieds section now plz

why is this less of a problem on edition 38?

methinks maturity of users.

there need to be SIMPLE GUIDELINES at the top of the wanted/for sale section, in big bold letters.

1. always get pictures even if you are collecting.

2. get a working phone number and address if a mobile is freely given, ask for a landline.

3. for a securer money tranfer (with fees) use paypal.

4. if it looks too good to be true, or something is out of place, dont buy it.

hth

Only one way to find out...

FIIIIIIGHT!

gota love clubpolo :lol::lol:

i think its timee that the admin said open sesame!

Site Admin can see $$$ - Simple.

I run my own club almost 900 members, not a patch on the size of this but I know what scammers etc are like.

MUCH better ways of dealing with it, rather than $$$.

i am shocked!!!!!!! This is odd! Never had any other vw site do this and I have been on the VW scene 15 years! 11 of thise driving and 9 VWs later, only brought 1 duff! I think we should just ban CHAVS from driving and then we would have less trashed VWs to sell!! :-(

this thread would be shorter without the silly comments

at a guess 95% of clubpolo sales go through perfectly fine...paying 5 quid isnt guna put someone off conning...even when on ebay they pay to list

whats 5 quid if your guna make 150?

i cant imagine how many ebay scams happen...its something you have to live with and bare in mind when your buying items second hand...clubpolo will never put a stop to the scamming, its something you have to live with..am sure many happen on ed38 aswell...apart from you have to register as a forum user before you can view any classified adds

my point earlier was not about post count's etc but the fact youve banned the well known honest members of clubpolo which is surely guna send some members away......

i think a poll between actual club members should take place...

its no way a good idea if u think about it scammers on ebay pay to have bogus listings to cone people of a thousand pounds but unlike ebay it has a FEEEDBACK SYSTEM so people are aware if the seller is genuine!

This is me posting my opinions as myself, not as part of any corporate line.

Yes, it's shit, but:

So is loads of people getting scammed for loads of cash.

So are most other people's suggestions for how to solve this.

So is pissing and whinging about the running of a club that's willing to accomodate you as a member even though you haven't paid your fiver.

So is the fact that a lot of people expect a club that's run by people who love the cars for a hobby for no reward to be utterly perfect.

So is the fact that these same people then get accused of scamming the members of the club.

need to adopt an approach similar to talkaudio.. 50 posts to use the classifieds with a feedback system.

p.s. if you want to buy some of my stuff keep an eye out on e38.. :-)

There's a catch with that. Have a look at peedubstyling's posting pattern on various sites. He joins, posts a few times in technical threads (normally with such good advice as "take it to a garage"), then disappears for a few months, then comes back wwhen he's an established member with a few posts under his belt and starts advertising.

What a fucking joke this is!!

BRING BACK STEVEO

This ships going down faster than my mum's boobs I used to enjoy coming on this forum but now its insane

If you've got a problem with scammers block it to the people with low post counts and joining dates

I'm pretty sure the bloke left of his own volition. The thing to bear in mind was that the bloke was an utter legend and had a crazy amount of time to devote to the club. It's also worth bearing in mind that at the time, the club was a heck of a lot smaller, and a lot of the current problems, scamming, spamming, people making sure everything was brilliant in the good old days, weren't so prevalent.

What am I deeply deeply fucked off about?

1. This mentality that the fiver membership goes nowhere. I've saved that much using my GSF discount in the last month. The dedicated server the club leases because the members said it was going too slow isn't free. Polo Show isn't free to organise. Membership packs cost money to make and post. Oh, hang on, I said membership packs right? Here's the score there. I took on part of the task of sending them out in September. Since then, I've posted literally 100's of them. Yeah, they don't always come immediately, sometimes I'm waiting for materials from the printers, sometimes I'm away with work, and sometimes I'd rather be spending time with my mates or working on my cars.

2. The fact that out of all the pages of this thread, pissing bitching and whining. 99% of the posts haven't actually made one helpful suggestion. Yeah, it's not ideal, nothing is, I'm pretty sure everyone at the top's aware of that, so pissing bitching and whining some more ain't gonna help. Shut up or put up, if you've got a better idea, lets hear it, if you haven't, ask yourself what benefit clicking that reply button is going to make.

still tho....i had a zero feedback once upon a time on ebay

whats to say am a scammer? or a genuine guy just got a new account on ebay?

you cant tell surely

its a bad idea end of £5 isnt gonna stop scammers my suggestion is a feedback system end of!

still cant get into classifieds yet?

19 pages and no solution?

Fact is, why would someone pay £5 for something they can get for free on any other site?

would the feedback idead work though and would it be difficult to set up?

just put it back to how it was, easiest thing to do. . .its not like every single person has been scamed, it happens everyware. . . . if ebay cant stop it and they must have endless amounts of money, then making people pay £5 isnt going to stop it ! this should have been thought over before, just be carefull !

hello polo3

As a member, I have a suggestion!!! Lock this thread!! All it is causing is ill feeling! A divide! If we have made our decision as a club, then lets stand by it and close this thread from discussion!

if someone gets scammed its there own stupid fault in the first place, why do the rest of us have to suffer?!

but that hasnt re opened the classifieds has it?

PLEASE CLOSE THE THREAD!?
