just make everyone use Paypal, then you're covered. I always pay and sell through it...

You can pay for membership through Paypal as well :-p

Surely £5 aint bad if you sell lots as over a whole year its cheaper then ebay.

Would it not be better to make it a viewable area to people who have 100 or more postcounts?

^this combined with compulsory paypal would sort it out, then you could check past posts to see if they've been spamming. problem solved.

this is quite stupid i reckon. People should be more aware and alert when buying of people who have no history. I've sold and bought things without any problems, so it isnt really fair. Plus my car is in the for sale part and i cant even see anything on it...

If someone was really set out to scam people spending a fiver wont stop them so they can scam hundreds.

how to i become a member??

you pay a fiver and wait aaaaaages... :?

Dan,

You know yourself, on a club level, I don't have any need to get involved.

On a personal level, it pisses me off. So i've felt the need to get involved.

Decent people are being robbed. This is the only way I could do anything to help prevent this.

But its not up to you do anything, decent people should use decent free common sense

I'm a member AND I've been scammed, but i dont agree with this at all

Your not preventing it tho?

To repeat whats been said, its down to the buyer, simply.

And again what is to stop a scam artist paying £5 to become a member?

Club polo is liable for being sued you know if you operate like this, this way doesnt solve any scamming problem.

how about other methods, seat.net have to approve your ad individually before posting.

it's not so bad if it was just members who could post ad's but no stop non members from viewing with the intention of buying?

how many members to forum users are there? i'm suspecting alot less.

This is like the off-topic thread afetr it was closed

Mummy, daddy, shout shouting at each other :crybaby:

Why not make another section in the for sale section called "feedback"

just let people leave feedback, good or bad, the users who repeatidly sell wlel will stay known

this is only the beginning, jsut wait till all the forum members get home from work to find they cant see their ads!

any any bad feedback left, can be defended, delays etc, this way good members will be made aware, and bad members will be made more aware, and ones with postage delays will come and defend themselves!

its win win

Well, cant complain. . . good excuse for me to become a member

yup and Nik Hewitt & Peedubstyling will be thinking exactly the same thing

pay £5 and rob £1000's

hope that wasnt insinuating that i am anything to do with the wa****s that scam some of us ?

OH and they won't let you post an ad until you've completed 10 meaning full reply's or posts on a thread, which all recommend you start with introducing yourself to the forum.

I think all ad's by non-members have been deleted, i can't see/accesss mine

I know you love a good scandal but how does making the for sale section viewable to members of the club have anything to do what-so-ever with the club being liable for transactions carried out in there?

If your not a member you should you able to view the for sale section. I often buy things from the for sale section and I was a member about a year ago but I dident recieve my membership pack so i dident bother renewing my membership. This is stupid, I understand that in order to reduce dodgy members from selling on here you have done this but we should at least be able to view the for sale section

like the one on our club g40 forum that no one bothers to use?

You can't even see the posts at all if you're not a member.

but surely members on here might loose a lot of business by doing this

I've never seen another forum do this, i think all the above points are quite valid, and this website is the only site i've had interest on my items for sale so far.

Maybe if your going to do this you could of put up a notice, rather than just cutting it in half way through the day, all the people who arn't into polo's as much to warrant membership can no longer access the for sale thread anymore.

Lots of forums have their classifieds as members only.

I got the idea from Briskoda.net if i'm totally honest.

omg, what a bad decision. Was this a one man/women decision thinking theyl end all the scamming problems on club polo? or was it a joint decision by all the moderators??

Poorly thought out decision tbh.

If it stays like this what a shit forum it will be, also if everyone was to buy membership would the people behind club polo be able to sort out all the membership packs etc? didnt think so.

people should just use their initiative when buying of people who cant give them pictures or want payment thorough bank transfer.

because you are mediating!

i fail to see how this will stop scammers?

seriously aside everything else, whats to stop nik hewitt becoming a paid member?

how does making the for sale section viewable to members of the club have anything to do what-so-ever with the club being liable for transactions carried out in there?

I've become a member now. It's only a fiver....

Plus, I've wanted to become a member for years, just never got round to it!!

One person may pay £5 to scam others but they won't pay £5 multiple times over to create more than one scamming account. If it's all members, everyone will get to know other sellers / buyers and the scammers will be caught out pretty soon I'd say.

Look at the amount of people who had been scammed but never brought it up til now, that says something!

Panda, if i pay now... would i have to wait ages (like people are saying) or is is automatic?

not automatic, i waited about 2 months for my status to change, still waiting on the pack, joined mid summer

^^ haha you're selling it to me! this is bloody ridiculous. as i said before, make it a 100posts or more section and use paypal. SORTED

haha, 2 months? What will the time be now then, with a mass of people doing it?
