Classified Ad's

perhaps some needs to be implemented.

I think this is the only answer, a brief warning statement on pm's etc

If you instruct people to only pay with payment methods that can be reversed if it goes sour.

Then that covers the clubs back as such, as your doing everything you can to help, the obvious method is paypal, i know people complain about paypal fees and the likes, but again, this is narrowminded, transfer £200 by bank transfer, no insurance, or transfer £200 by paypal (if you are paying you dont pay anymore) and you can claim it all back very easily.

That alone fixes any problems with scammers, once they see that no one is playing, they will soon move on...

If people do contact the admin/mods about being scammed, and they paid by bank transfer, you can have a automated style email saying, "we did inform you not to pay by bank transfer, its your own fault"

type thing lol

I think this way is best for all parties, does anyone see any problems with my idea?

What's the crack with this then?

I got down page 1 and got bored and this page reads the same and I am not reading 25 more pages off it. Buying is done at the buyers risk, same with anything really, you take a risk buying off eGay aswell. If it's too good to be true, it is! and if something minute doesn't seem right, walk away or get raped.

Simple as tbh.

So has it been put back to how it was now or has access to the classifieds section still been restricted?

Edit: One other thing, it does shock me how many off you have been scammed and had the little jippos address, did you not go pay him a visit to get you item or money back? Would be both in my case.

yep, i do alot of buying and selling on ebay, scn and cp.

i learned my lesson the hard way, paid £200 to a tobias hansky on german ebay for some rh cups, he had 30+ good feedbacks but like an idiot i paid via direct bank transfer. guess what they never came, my fault entirely so it was tough luck for me but i won't be making that mistake again.

whatever you do/ whatever you put in place it is open to fraudulent claims, false feedbacks and incorrect info.

BUYER RESPONSIBILITY IS ALL YOU REALLY HAVE WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE!

and educating is not always patronising too, people think that an address means its all fine, do as i do with everything i get given, addresses, phone numbers, just take 2min to google them, when the address comes up as a hotel, alarm bells ring!

in a way this post has done its job anyway with everyone seeing it, and making them more aware

so to panda he has kind of helped solve the problem lol

I'll use Edition38 thanks.

thanks for that constructive comment

fecking ibiza drivers! lol!

zee germans are an OFFICIAL pain in the arse to buy from... very few of them use paypal, and its not like you can just go an collect it... few good germans on here, one sells g40 calipers, but the majority of german ebay usres need a slap.

I'll use Edition38 thanks.

Time you got yourself a Golf then eh?

Mk1 of course

Whens it gonna be open then haha?

Mk1 of course

original and best imo, or a mk1 g40 mmmmmm!

another good idea is maybe when a user registers they have to agree a contract thingy that the admins, mods and forum will take no responsibility of members selling items and they buy at there own risk

this not only covers you the admins and mods but gives you a leg to stand on when some one has be "scammed"

thanks

phil

whats happening?

come on what is takin so long

there probably working lol

its not like they're all students or all unemployed with no lives lol

Right going to have my say on the matter.

As most of you will know we have been having quite a few problems with scammers. So we have had to make a change to the for sale/wanted sections to see if that help matters. We can not say 100% it will but untill we try it we will not know.

Now yes this is going to piss off all the forum members but i feel we have a job to look after the forum members MORE as they are paying at the end of the day.

If this does not work there is nothing to say that it will not go back to how it was.

As i said back on page whatever, i'm totally behind the team on this. many of us pay for the priviledge of being a member and we get a sticker, yearbook and hundreds of pounds of discounts. In return, we help to keep the server paid for which keeps this place open. What do forum users give to help keep the site open? Many of you do give out good advice but that doesn't result in money paying for the streaming now does it?

sounds good, think you clubpolo should get some nice volonteers to sort the membership out too i.e the yearbooks, stickers and all that

we do have people sorting them out.. the printers are taking their merry time though...

get a decent damn printers then, what are you exactly waiting for? I'm sensing yet again, nothing but a scapegoat...

the words 'sit down' and 'chill' come to mind Dan. Sorry, had to say it. This may be a trial so if everyone just cooled it for a while, i'm sure a decent way of sorting this out will emerge. Calling it bullshit or whatever doesn't help things.

I'll use Edition38 thanks.

Bye then!

I do think Classified Ad's should be members only but then again, people like me who don't like using PayPal or anything like this and have brought stuff off here being GENUINE BUYERS, shouldn't be punished.

I agree with vwmk3jon about paying for the usage of this Forum to keep it running though, maybe everyone should pay a couple quid? If they don't agree to this, then they can go elsewhere????

Long gone are the good old days when I'd get accused of viewing porn at work by colleagues for going on 'porka.net'

All it takes is a few muppets to scam and the loving community we all were once a part of has been cut like a pie into slices of disagreement and mass debate...

i've been on here a few years, sold alot and brought alot - not any more :-(

can't see why you can't even browse them.

how does paying £5 stop you from getting scammed?

This is not a good idea at all, at the end of the day, its the buyers responsibility to be confident in what their purchasing. You should make sure you know everything about what your buying, whos selling it how your going to get everything there is to know. IMO knowone should suffer for someone elses lack of responsibility and effort. Paying a fiver isnt going to stop anything, For someone who is scamming, it will just be i pay a fiver to recieve 500 pounds, its not going to work.

Also discriminating against members an non members is stupid, yes maybe members pay and non members down, but at the end of the day every user contributes in there own way and helps the site, maybe not in upkeep but by at least spreading the name around and making the forum heard, making it useful etc.

What goods a forum without the users?

i paid for membership last night and still nothing has been done about it i still can't see classified ads

and now your saying your putting it back to how it was?

somethings gone wrong here.......

can't see why you can't even browse them.

There is a reason for this.

Classifieds are being opened again, probably today sometime I would have thought.

Really news to me. So god knows how you know that?

Really guys, I think the issue has been discussed enough already. The fact is that when you sign up to the club properly you have to give your real name and address, which would obviously be a help should the member do a runner with someone's money, which does make sense.

Everyone has expressed their opinion, and the classifieds are being opened again, probably today sometime I would have thought. And dont winge about paying a measly fiver to join up, nobody forced you, and you should want to support the club anyway!

However, I do think that the updating status process and such needs to be faster .
