Its NOT a scheme to get everyone to cough up. Something has to be done to stop people being scammed left right and centre. This is 1 idea.

If everyone chilled for 10 and used the rest of the site, maybe something good will come of it. If you're that bothered, go somewhere else.

I have to say though, there are some poor people on here, on the Mk2 Golf Club people actually donate every so often as well as the intial payment to become a member, i think so far this month 6 people have donated a total of £28 for no reason at all except knowing it all helps the club fund - esp like on here we are sorting out facilities at the Mk2 Golf National Meet at Billing.

I just think the action was abit blunt without previously having a topic about it in the Members Only section.

Hats off to the administrators for having the balls to admit they made a mistake.

I think a small donation is justified. After all, if every forum user donated £1, that would help run things for a while.

I cant stand people on here moaning when all they've done is sign up and not contributed and then have the cheek to moan about not being able to get in the sales threads.

I don't think this really matters whether you're a paid up member or not.

It was purely the fact that something that was there for use without having to be a paid up member was taken away without real justification.

Jon, i get what you're saying with money being needed for the server, but what is the server for? to keep the site running.. and the site is for posting, discussions, technical info, classifieds etc.. its a cycle..

And as a paying member, i like having the right to buy and sell parts etc, and locking the section was preventing that to an extent.

I think the more members are given for that £5, the more they'll give back to the site.

It's true, a lot of us have other places a pearl diver could go. But today in one visit to GSF I saved £2.64

and i'll use my discount when i get new plugs and leads.
