loll

How on earth did the club/staff/panda/whoever think this would be a good idea?

Does it not occur to you that there are decent buyers and sellers that don't want to join the club? This is unfairly forcing people who have Polo-related items to sell to join.

Parts are one thing, it's even worse for cars! What does Joe Bloggs do when he's got an old Polo for sale? He's not going to want to pay £5 to signup (and advertise to enthusiasts!) So off on eBay he goes! great! They have fees aswell ofcourse but it's the principle of it.

Personally, alot of the people I've bought from/sold to have been none-members, this decision decreses both the likelihood of me finding what I need to buy or anyone buying from me.

- Less items for sale

- Less cars for sale

- Less buyers

HOW is this a positive thing for the club?

I appreciate some people have been scammed, but will this really stop it? Scammers on the elaborate scale of that Nik Hewit character would be quite happy to pay £5 to steal hundreds or thousands. What's worse is now users will instantly assume their transactions are safe, when they're not. Also, seeing as the club do pretty much nothing for the scammed (other than a ban for the scammer) users are being lulled into a very false sense of security. The increased income of the club can't have deterred this issue much either.

I really hope someone has the sense to switch it back or it really will be a nail in the coffin of Club Polo.

I volunteered before when they wanted peeps to sort the membership packs out, got no reply. My Post Office is next door to me and i have been on here ages but it was not good enough i suppose...............

I will stick with my work for Polo3 and Mk2 Golf Owners Club.

 could just make a for-sale site for non members.

This is a stupid idea so paying £5 covers u if you get scammed? and admin gonna take responsibilty for it? anyone could sign up for £5 and scam thousands of pounds of people i dont see how this is a clever idea? as other members have said why not put a feedback system in place to give buyers and sellers peace of mind? I've sold some bits of here and to say the least each buyer has been very happy with my communication and service, i think its a wrong way to go about getting rid of the scammers, as there are genuine sellers and buyers on here

polo3

Do it!!

polo3 is aight. full of northerners tho :p

north is best

polo4?

ClubPolo Admin, Flame grilled.

These are not personal digs or attacks but you seem to be shooting yourselves in the feet with regards to keeping the club going.

i wasn't exactly over the moon about having to become a member to get on the rolling road list properly, with preference going to members with standard 1.0L polos?

but stopping non-members looking at the for sales? half the reason people come on here is the forsales. if you can give a lead time on the payment to member status, i'll consider coughing up.
