Its a shit idea, but I'm not surprised by the move by admin. The site has really been slipping down in quality since the summer.

Good way to start 2009 admin, good luck you may need it

Polo3 actually like mk4s, they are just anti scene and pretend to hate them

8 pages of hate

come on admin do the right thing

Hmmmm, i'm still making my mind up on this and i'm gonna get some stick on my following comments but if you don't like it, i'm not really bothered. Tomorrows another day.

lol, what alot of you don't realise is that first of all I asked the staff, we all agreed it would be a good idea.

Second of all, I posted in the member section, asking the opinion of the members. Who thought it'd be a good idea.

I'm pretty sure i DID read about this. How far back did you people search? things move around on here quite quickly.

gay, i get what you mean, but i had a post to sell parts to people on here, now i cant see it.....i take it it's been deleted?

Nope, every post is still there.

however the non-members weren;t asked? how democratic

However, what would happen if we were all non-members? Simple, there'd be no site for us to come on because the £5 from each member pays for the upkeep of the server and site which isn't cheap in this day and age. Therefore, i believe that forum users should have no say as it feels as though most of you are just 'along for the ride' and whinge and moan about things that happen on here when you dont even bother to pay for its upkeep. If you're on here so much, why not pay for your membership and then reap the rewards of the discounts that you get?

I'm a member and i think its a shite idea

i want to be a member but how long will it take

There are a few of us that have owned/own Mk4's

Craig is part of the scene, you know Club Hate Dirrt? Maybe you should have one

this club is defo slippin i thought clubpolo was a forum to help enthusiasts which it was clearly doing with the for sale section people with a G40 trying to source rare parts could get hold of them cus of the for sale section, looks like a lot of g40s will be scraped now cus of the lack of parts going to be advertised killing the polo to be honest :(

also i hope with all these new memberships going out you are going to the next clubpolo show at billing again lol

ummmm, no:

Well here is the inevitable end of clubpolo.. truly the nail in the coffin :( Quite possibly the dumbest decision ever on here. The sure-fire way to fully remove the 'club' from clubpolo is to take a course of action without actually consulting any of the members first. It also seems a sneaky way to increase revenue... no i'm slightly reminiscent of thatcher and the poll tax

But all jokes aside why should all the genuine users on here suffer cos a few dumb idiots have gone and spoiled it for everyone else by not using their own discretion when making purchases? I've bought (and sold) countless things on here without any problems because i've always dealt either in person or if buying through the post then only with people that i know are trusted sellers. Without sounding harsh but if others dont exercise the same air of caution then more fool them.

Yes I know £5 a year isn't a lot to pay but when I've seen the countless amounts of people on here waiting in excess of 3 months just for their status to be changed to 'member' (let alone the amount of people that haven't even recieved their membership packs!!) then surely for me to pay is just money down the pan!

Admin are the scammers here I think

Polo3 FTW

Were all part of the scene :-p

Whats this club hate dirrt?

oh well at least there are pleanty of other vw forums that most of the people on here use to sell stuff. seems like a method to just rake cash in to me. i certainly wont be bothering to become a member. it was a waste of £5 last time.

How on earth did the club/staff/panda/whoever think this would be a good idea?

Does it not occur to you that there are decent buyers and sellers that don't want to join the club? This is unfairly forcing people who have Polo-related items to sell to join.

Not really forcing them is it? We'll just all fuck off elsewhere...

Ok, not forcing, but if you've got some Polo-related stuff to sell, you wanna be where the buyers are! If your not a member you can't even see how busy/quiet the Classifieds section is so you'd have to join the club to even find that!

Mk1polo.com - http://www.s-tech.org.uk/mk1/index.html

I'm unemployed, so i have a lot of spare time and i knew i could do it in 10mins

Surely forums are to accomodate the vw scene and buying and selling is part of that.

I see this as a money grabbing scheme as it is a known fact that the for sale section generates the most activity on the forum.

Worst idea ever in mine and many others opinions, there be more for sale threads in other sections now, clogging up and intruding what that section is really for.

Oh and also have club polo got a license to charge people to view a market area ? as there are many rules that need to be followed by sites such as autotrader and ebay etc...

I think your making things very difficult for yourselves and others...

I'm in process of buying some wheels - payed the deposit!

now i cant even go back 2 the thread!!!

gayyyyyyyyyyy
