I'm unemployed, so i have a lot of spare time and i knew i could do it in 10mins

10 mins well spent...

now even MORE fascinated.

you need to go an expose - "DIRRT - Who IS She?"

when the rest of the mods see this i reckon they are gonna be sending panda off to the vets to be put down

(Awaits instant panda ban for cracking a joke)

Basicaly a months notice would have been nice, AFTER a thread in the members area for discussion.

What the hell, why are non members being discriminated because of a few people that have scammed others????

Don't see why I should be a member to see classifieds and to be honest you will be limiting other peoples sales - I've bought quite a few parts on here in the past 4 years and never had any problems.

Think we are all capable of making our own decisions/ mistakes without ruining it for others.

Basically, I won't be coming here again. I'm sure there are others that feel that way too.

And for people to whinge about us non-members not paying for the upkeep?

Are you taking the piss? Upkeep?!

i dont tihnk they will, it was a joint decision so thats that.

But, we can all voice our views, which is good

but all i ask, personally, if you are going to stick to your guns, is that you set a date, say in a week when it becomes effective?

Gives chance for people to prepare?

Will take off a bit of the flack caused by all this?

No it wouldnt, its a bad idea full stop i think

What he said ^^

its a colour thing

In my opinion this is ridiculous.

So you have to pay £5 to view a classifieds section?

Maybe sort out the memebership sistuation before introducing rules like this.

What if i want to advertise my car for sale? the only people that will see the add are members, which more than likey already own a Polo..

Non-owners that have signed up on here, looking to buy a Polo before becoming a member, wont be able to see the cars.

Bollocks.

Chris.

Panda, if i pay now... would i have to wait ages (like people are saying) or is is automatic?

mine changed straight away, paid through paypal

need to adopt an approach similar to talkaudio.. 50 posts to use the classifieds with a feedback system.

p.s. if you want to buy some of my stuff keep an eye out on e38.. :-)

in all seriousness, i wont stop scammers, they probably wont mind an outlay of £5 to scam people for hundreds of pounds, a few false details and addressses and their away

did it yeah i am on

basically the admins are the ones that people complain to if they get scammed therefore they are covering their own backs. i don't think that this is the answer but say if i wanted to pay for membership now, how long would i expect to wait until i could view the classifieds? not too bothered about the membership pack to be honest and it doesn't sound like they are being sent out anyway.

I would've joined up ages ago but was constantly seeing posts about being waiting fucking ages just for their status to be changed (let alone getting their poxy sticker!)

The same token I wouldn't buy anything in the for sale section if I saw other people waiting fucking ages to recieve their goods from that particular seller..

Admin = scammers

who do i pay

How on earth did the club/staff/panda/whoever think this would be a good idea?

Does it not occur to you that there are decent buyers and sellers that don't want to join the club? This is unfairly forcing people who have Polo-related items to sell to join.

Parts are one thing, it's even worse for cars! What does Joe Bloggs do when he's got an old Polo for sale? He's not going to want to pay £5 to signup (and advertise to enthusiasts!) So off on eBay he goes! great! They have fees aswell ofcourse but it's the principle of it.

Personally, alot of the people I've bought from/sold to have been none-members, this decision decreses both the likelihood of me finding what I need to buy or anyone buying from me.

- Less items for sale

- Less cars for sale

- Less buyers

HOW is this a positive thing for the club?

I appreciate some people have been scammed, but will this really stop it? Scammers on the elaborate scale of that Nik Hewit character would be quite happy to pay £5 to steal hundreds or thousands. What's worse is now users will instantly assume their transactions are safe, when they're not. Also, seeing as the club do pretty much nothing for the scammed (other than a ban for the scammer) users are being lulled into a very false sense of security. The increased income of the club can't have deterred this issue much either.

I really hope someone has the sense to switch it back or it really will be a nail in the coffin of Club Polo.
