yeh, 106 gtis are fast. my mate used to have one and i though it was rapid. it would hammer my valver and my valver will hammer gt's so there must of been somethin drasticly wrong with the gtis u raced. either that or they werent tryin cos gt's are like 90bhp(correct me if I'm wrong) and 106 gtis are 125bhp

i had a black 106 gti with straight through and induction kit an would keep up with my mates new mini cooper s works. no dout the mini was faster, but never lost me :)

they are amazing cars

i would 100% recommend just couldnt afford driving in it to uni every day :(

106 GTi are really really good cars. Don't get to thinking they are supercars but as far as road going go karts go they are damn good. Plus for french they actually look really good and are well put together with a decent interior (well the half leather seats are good). You feel really low in the car and the only one i have been in was standard ride height. VTS are shit. They are shit because they are a saxo bottom line. Saxos feel so damn unsafe a poorly made its scary. I despise them. Not just because barry boys love them but just because they are gash.

For £1700 though you may have to get a shonky car. Keep the valver a bit longer and put some money in the bank :-) Then go jap :-)

mate i can back up dougs testament about us being able to keep up with gti's in the gt's. i raced a few off the line in my gt and they deffo werent flying away. obvs pulling away but not like they could escape from me

also since having a rwd car, rwd is so much faster than fwd, admitidly fwd can be fast but a rwd car with the same power will rape it. from my experience.

theres a lot of people saying that 106 gti's are fast in this thread. at the end of the day its a 1.6 106, its never gunna fast unless you do summat radical like turbo it.

for what they are they are fast, besides... i wouldn't want to go faster in a French shell as the n cap rating isnt great lol.

And yes the VTS and 106 GTi are the same car, however the 106 is sooo much better imo. the interior is nicer, an they look much nicer from the outside. But thats just person preference, i cant wait personally to be behind the wheel of a GTi again :)

perhaps they do look slightly different, but essntially the same car and demolover is saying one is absolutly mint and one is shit lol

106's are still wank cars tho, the 0-60 of them is like 8 secs and my car is like 10 and i can still tan one one the twistys, it happend the other day.

integra type r dc2 and dc5 now thats proper fwd jap and also the best handling fwd ever made 106 = no chance save up and buy one mate you wont regret it
