I'm not now iv given up just going for some twin 40s

got the twins today ,

i think the reason the bumper sits wonky is the diggage it had that side , you should be able to bend the bracket to straighten it up . what sort of noise you got ? the carbs look pucker mate . you say thats a side exsit bomb was thinking of going down that route with suzie , how loud was it and did you have the centre box on still ? you managed to steal them gt bits yet

ino i was hopeing its the braket , its like a clonk every time i go ova a bump its on the drivers side ,quite loud and yeh still had the centre box on it ,doesnt mount very well tho just sits in a lil cut out in the chasis so in rattles around lol and it scraps to n my cars not even that low,nope not yet looks like my brother might use most of the bits , i was hopeing that i could have to bottom end or the pistons , but there fooked i think the valves tuched them , 1 thing is for sure i need a head.

whats that you say ,the valves n pistons , you need a head for the gt or a head for the 2g , as all 1.3 heads are the same so you can swap them over if need be . and your clonk sounds like top mount .

oh top mount yeh it is raised compared to the other side , is it dangerous lol? well the head on the gt my brother is putting on his car when he gets new valves n i cant wait that long to have his old head ,wona start porting now n crack on with this build

and na the top mount aint dangerous its not going to fall off or anything , just rattle and bang over bumps a bit

oh thats ok then ,yeh i have got a 2g lump thats what i will b useing

so he`s not using the gt bottom end ? if theirs not holes in the pistons fit them to your 2g, thats basicaly what suzies got :-)

well if the pistons r good my brother wants them ,but they look damaged to me

was thinking maybe i might sell the twis n get a cleaner 1 , that front end damaged she had is making her look ugly

took my damaged wing off today n fitted one that i have prept for painting , plus need to get the wing colour matched up.doesnt fit perfect but just needs a lil bending in places .

oh ryan why do you want to sell the twist , its only a bump , bet if you fitted a new bumper it would all be fine as you`ve straightend the rest out , and why would you want to sell the twins their gonna sound the nuts

only hard bit is scraping off the waxy stuff they use to seal the wing, coz you cant see the bolt heads you have to scrape the crap off to find them n its tuff stuff , tho I'm sure if i used abit of heat on it could of made it easier .

got the breada a new splitter at the weekend from a mk1 golf gl i think , and i had a lil play with my bumper it wasnt sitting rite but after sticking a jack under it, bent it rite back to shape looks alot better .

looks mint will look even better on the clasics

started working on the front legs cut off the springs seats so far ,just got save up for some parts to convert them to coilovers.
