Did Any One Get Stuck In The Snow ?

Featured Replies

I haven't got stuck, but plenty of people driving up my road are making an arse of it.

It's an eastern upslope, instead of keeping the revs low in 2nd they rev the arse off it wheels spinning all the way up.

Car going everywhere, fishtailing and bouncing off the kerb.

Sounds like my road

lol, sounds like me earlier. Just i was doing it on purpose.

My roads the bottom of a hill. Quality watching people trying to stop.

Luckily the junction bit has thawed out now so you cant go wrong even if you came down my road at 30.

I crashed into a kerb :(

It was just as the snow started lastnight i went round a mini roundabout and hit some ice, slid straight into it and bent my tca.

Well gutted had to drive home at like 10mph with the hazards on and wheel constantly scrubbing the arch.

I did exactly this, car is fucked! *sobs quietly*

You haven't have you? And we thought your car would die on the rolling road! lol.

I haven't got stuck today, even with all the mucking about I've been doing! Puny engine and skinny wheels ftw!

3 Cars Have slide in to a wall down my road as well have a hill

Thank god i moved my car out of the way the night before

lucky you did

It's the people who drive as they normally would on a sunny afternoon that get me.

People who get up you are arse when if you put your foot on the brake you actually gain speed.

The people who brake wayy too late then slide out in front/into you on roundabouts.

Is it not common sense to drive slower and brake much sooner in the snow? lol.

Sorry for the rant, just my drive home was rather enraging now I'm thinking about it.

I've seen a lot that

i had a BMW go flying past me on the way home yesterday it was in a 30 limit and he when throw the speed camera at about 50mph

The men in the Audi A5's, BMW's who think that they can drive at 30+ when its a skid pan, because there in a hurry.

NOBHEADS.

All BMW drivers are Wankers

and i mean ALL of them

Didnt get stuck but did have a nice person in a BMW slide out infront of me on a junction, i just slowly went round him and gave him a really loooong slooooow finger :p

idiot

yep that's what BMW drivers are like

there all think they can drive but they can't

Madness

4 wheel drive is what you need in this.

However rear wheel drive is much more 'exciting'

i've seen 2 4x4s get stuck

and yep Rear wheel drive is a lot of fun in the snow

i was drifting around every corner least year

we got stuck behind a numpty yesterday who slid into the side of a car he had to be towed out by a landy and then he drove off

Not this time.

I did pull a 4x4 out at work with the transit though.... oh the humility :D

To be fair, he'd just parked unluckily and came back to his car on a sheet of ice.

Driving through drifts last night, bloody 4x4 drivers waving you to slow down and saying things like "you wont get that up there", the look on there faces when you reverse and they realise your just actually taking a run up. hahaha, strengthened bumper mounts just push it out of the way.

I was getting through on roads that they couldn't.

exactly, i mean look at the ' ice road truckers ' . . . we had quite alot up north

Tavs one of the scotland crew. They make em tough up there! lmao.

Snow dont stop me. Infact, makes me more determined to get outside and start having fun!

Even had the work truck sliding about on the remaining patches of ice today! Not fun having a 25ton truck out of control!!!!

nope not much fun in a 25ton truck

but in a scooby it would be a lot of fun

i want a scooby

no you dont. My mate has a prodrive equipped scooby running 350bhp and it costs him a fortune in servicing, fuel etc

Do people realise that places like Canada are still inhabited by humans? We're lucky we've not had much snow this time round, was white out blizzards yesterday at times but it's refusing to lie. Only the two highest roads (Cairn o' Mount and the Lecht) have been closed locally...it's just wet now...bleh!

Think the leon was a better choice! His scooby has an oil leak from somewhere. Means its a garage job as yet again, the engine needs to come out! Theres not even enough room to get to parts of the engine, its all so closely packed together!

Lmao at the skiing guy. Bit excessive dont you think? I suppose it would be a quick way to work if you was to hold onto the back of a passing vehicle!

405

Yep I got stuck. 100mm drop=shabba in the snow.

LMFAO at comments like 'went where 4x4's wouldnt'. Obviously people who have never had a go in a 4x4 in the snow.

Although, back end of the summer my mates dad traded his Prezza non turbo for a turbo one and the turbo is absolutely useless. Way too much power. Just gets its self stuck. Think he is going non turbo as soon as he gets the chance as he wont buy anything thats not 4x4 because of snow.

I got stuck in the snow anyway, But my mate came and dragged me out with his landy. He got that stuck at midnight last night. Rang us to come and pull him out but we were camping up blackstone edge so tough shit! Just walked for 40 mins in a snowstorm up a hill so there was no way we were going back.

whats wrong with a Peugeot 405

its a Grate car

Had to laugh when i got home today.. pulled onto my drive which has tiny lip on, usuually only the exhaust catches it ever so slightly when i reverse off, but as pulled on at about 5 i heard a loud scrape..

Parked up and had a nuse underneath.. my subframe has basically acted like a snow plough going down my un-gritted street and colledcted a house brick sized lump of snow, so must have been from this morning as it had gone hard and i had to use a broom to scrape it off
