What an ignorant post (i'll show my ignorance now) to be honest i'd probably drive the worst BMW invented rather than a 405

why that then

Had to laugh when i got home today.. pulled onto my drive which has tiny lip on, usuually only the exhaust catches it ever so slightly when i reverse off, but as pulled on at about 5 i heard a loud scrape..

Parked up and had a nuse underneath.. my subframe has basically acted like a snow plough going down my un-gritted street and colledcted a house brick sized lump of snow, so must have been from this morning as it had gone hard and i had to use a broom to scrape it off

wow thats wired

did it damage you car ?

Naa lol, dont think so, it'd gone to that black hard snow and just dragged the powder stuff along the street

because there's no need, just because one BMW driver fells your dad doesn't mean the rest of them are all after him.

so what do you drive then

lol @ the use of spastic!

does anyone else find that traction control is shite in snow?

took me 2 hours to get home t'other day, usually takes 15 mins. some dude in a Merc wrote a bus stop off, that was quite funny.

You two really should read some of your posts ffs

We're expecting 10" tonight, my turn for fun :-p

Not so much stuck, but on the way up a hill I had to stop because some pringle shagging tossmonger in a 5-series came screaming down it... My efforts to find grip failed and I ended up sliding comicly back down the hill sideways... Bad times

thats bmw drivers for you LoL

Coming home late last night was doing about 6 mph into a junction, applied a bit of brakes and fuck all happened, it was like a sheet of polished glass covered in soap or something! didnt help that it was a fairly downhill junction, and i just slid out into the road! luckily there was nobody about at that time of night so it was cool but it totally took me by suprise. I'm a very careful driver in ice and snow but this was something else :S

Changed my pants when i got home haha

traction cotrol , abs , esp , stability managment ....ect is all rubbish and pointless if you know how to drive , and if you know how to drive you dont need to go that slow . the problem with new drivers is they have never driven anything that punishes their mistakes , just brake and steer .

If there is snow on the ground then you should only really drive as fast as you need to, if you need to gather a bit of momentum in order to make an ascent then fair enough. But at all other times its super steady. It dosent matter how well you can drive the simple fact is that no grip=not stop as fast.

I'm sick of people on forums talking down to others because they 'cant drive'. There seem to be many people who can clearly drive on water.

think he was talking to me ! i`m not saying i`m McRae or nothing , just the lack of driver input and feel through the car dont help you , experience is everything when driving in such conditions , not relying on a computer to stop you crashing . the driving test dont help in giving anyone car control tips , unlike the finnish test which takes 3 years to get a full licence . we get told to not cross are arms and they taught to control a drift :disgust: england is crap , few inches of snow and the cuntrys fubard , but it dont stop anyone in sweden

Meh, 130hp, silly amounts of torque, RWD, abysmal weight distribution and no electronic aids at all. Done the south east and back twice this week and I'm still here. Admittedly, it took me 5.5 hours to get back from Dartford, and I got overtaken by pretty much everything, but I made it.

Only really tricky bit was coming up the small hill towards the house as someone in a 4x4 wanted to come down it using the clear bit of road in the middle. They soon got the hint that I was using it and they could either go round me or wait

tranny`s are well fun , used to love nicking the old mans :ninja:

When it snows i always go out in my car and make the most of it, as its good to have the experiance.

Got stuck on monday half way up a hill on private land luckily, as it took me an hour to dig it out! Was fun though, and next time around i will have more of a clue on how to get it out.
