When the salt dries its a right bastid to get off! I tired it with mine. Opted to paint over it now though, as the rust look is a bit played out, nice to see something different done though! Shotgun FTW. Looking forward to seeing it in brown too, I hada brown phase-

But got bored so opted for matt black. Tbh wish it was still tornado red, but you live and learn!

haven't dont much to the bread recently apart from letting the bonnet rust

I've been busy with this...

i baught the valver with a snapped cambelt with the idea of breaking it and rebuilding the engine to put into my mk1 jetta.but gave it a wash an realised it was to good to break even though it does have 116k on the clocks.

so been busy messing with it and repairing it.

the plan is to use the valver for abit while i take the bread of the road to spray it and swap the engine over and so i dont ahve to rush. :-)

I've stripped the complete front end of and taken the head and stripped that. found 8 bent valves 6 exhaust 2 inlet but luckly i carnt see any cracked pistons/head e.c.t

so ordered new valves and getting the head skimmed monday then the rebuild can start.but i will be cleaning and painting parts along the way. I've bead blasted the rocker cover and exhaust guard so far and will give them a lick of paint.

also picked up some fk coilovers for a nice price and as the mattigs wont be being used when the bread in the garage il roll on them:) decked mk4 on 13's .not may mk4s have managed to pull of a decent stance with 13's so i wil just ahve to show hows its done:D

going to weld some nice lump of ski shaped metal onto the subframe and strengthen it. remove the cat and get a straight though as the cats quite low. :-D

sadly one of the rings on the front coilover has siezed so il have to ring fk and see if i can get a new set of adjuster rings...hence only 3 pictured ready and waiting to go on.

gave one panel a good clean and not many swirl marks for a car with the amount of mileage and hardly any rust on the whole car.....result plus i only paid 150 quid for it and mot runs out in late july

well came out of work the other day to find someone had decided my poor poop polo would look nicer with a big dent in the wing.so looks like i need a new on of them now...and no one even owned up to doing it.grrrr

well it managed to get me and sam 502 miles with no problems apart from removing 6mm spacers in leeds somewere????? 11 hours of driving and some good laffs

got the wheels though and am happy. 13x7 et-7 ultralites wrapped in new bridgestone potenza 175/50 13's and i think i prefere them to the superlites as they have huge dish and think its abit ott for 13's

here is one.they were all the same and the polished lips wernt polished so hav to polish them up by hand..oh deep joy.

so set about polishing so far I've dont 3 which is all gravey and plan to do the 4th tomorrow.. :-D

and wire wheeled back the 1.4 abd 5-speed box and gave that and the mount a nice coat of matt black.mmm

and shall be fitted tomorrow some time.woop 5 speed.lol

hah cheers mate..fitted the 5 speed box today all ok apart from 2nd is abit tricky to select sometimes think i need to just tweek the linkage a little.

also fitted the g-ladergvbiuoyvkb what ever the hell they are arb block and it seem to have stiffened the front end a little of i dont know if its just me lol

also managed to take a scaffold pole to the wing to dent it abit/alot more in ANGER. i think i have problems....mind you the bonnet did fall down and wacked me on the back of the head nice and hard giving me a big lump boooo....(dont laff).

picked my my gt rear axel too with the built in arb thing..

wheels ar looking good dude!!! suit the jetta!!

get that rear beam on and you'll be well away!!!! just holla if you need any more bits!

after the wing was dented i decied after aquite a few drinks that it would be better covered in dents haha.so me and a few mates got busy.

the aee will still be going in with bike carbs when i can be arsed.lol

but for now the 1,0 its lapping up the abuse.

tbh i wasnt great before looks better in the pics.the paint is poop as its been cleaned with a scaring pad and both front wings had rust on the arches and one had been dented in at work.plus bother door had holes in the bottom and drivers by the wing mirror.i know there replaceable parts but the car only cost 40 quid..

i cleaned it last nite haha. I'm tempted to either matt black it or just sand all the paint of.as the cars going to be scrapped/broke when the tax uns out in august.:(

still going ahead with the aee and bike carbs e.c.t just for the fun of it and then the engine can go into my mk1 jetta.

Leave the paint imo doesnt look too bad / matting it will make it look completely wank (no offence to people with matt cars as often it looks good) I reckon leave it or if you must change it then sand it off :)

i think its stupid, if the car was already shitty bodywise then it wouldnt of been so bad, but seeing as the car was pretty damn sound and looked so sweet and clean before it just seems pointless and makes me sad.

There are plenty of shit looking vw's And not just crap modded ones....in recent years the stylists have gone slightly wierd to say the least, just look at some of their concepts
