At What Point Do You Feel 'part' Of The Forum

Featured Replies

Why don't you ask him yourself, he said he'll be home in 5 son  You could do me a favour though and tell him he is no longer needed, let him down gently though eh?

i`m afraid he wont be home, as he aint been for 19 years and if he did my step dad`s gonna be pissed

I dont get this "part of the forum" stuff, the only people imo who are part of the forum are the ones who work for it (mods, admin etc)

The rest are just common words that stay the same writing information or other random words, if you want to remember/like them common words and the person behind them then cool, but theres nothing to be 'part of' as such

I'm me, on here and any other site, doesnt matter how many words I've wrote, i dont try to 'fit in'. I mean, who remembers even half of the 'forum' when they log off? i know i dont :lol:

You keep telling yourself that...

I dont, i only remember the ones who i like and talk to in real life

Oh and you, sometimes :-p

Sometimes? We both know that's a lie :smirk:

This thread is just bizarre, I'm glad I contributed some shit to it tbh

Well i did want to tell the truth but i wanted people to think i liked you :-p

Just to explain if you didnt get that, i was making out that i never remember you  lies obviously my sweets :-D

you know when your part of the forum when D16RRT starts ripping you for somthing

Yeah i never felt part of the club for all those years before she piped up! She was quiet when she first joined, when she just had her slow Polo she didnt post crap everywhere, it was the G that turned her.

Havnt noticed you bro much after he killed the GT he got off buster iirc?

Well if you get a GT thats not been used in 10years and decide to do a 'number' then yes it will die. I guess when your young you learn the hard way. Never rev up cold and old engines...

But I believe one of the other reasons was that the pump or filter (can't remember which) drastically failed. But fairplay he did get a new engine and fixed it, then the exhaust went, sump needed replaced, etc...

That's it then, Buy a G and you'll be 'part of it'

Cant really say i feel 'part of the forum' but I don't really know what being 'part of the forum' is.

I defo don't feel like scripting or coding of any sort

think kerrly may have struck up on something on one of the first posts, you know you've been 'accepted' or people know what your like well enough for you to be able to post a borderline thread/ post and not get torn to bits over your comments.

ie; d16rrt admitting to speeding on the public highway and gets next to no negative comments. others have been slated to the ground for admitting such things.

yeah, when you meet people at meets.

i'v made 2 great mates thru CP, and met some sound people whilst buying/selling on here...

some jon even guided me in by phone-nav to the RR day, and i'd never met him before

The problem is the newer mods/admin who can get on your back when you have been using the forum for longer then them,

Quit your jibber jabber... it's only because you roll in a cordy/bug/nova/hearing aidmobile whatever you're rocking these days...

I'm feeling part of CP now... i'm stroking my monitor... phwoarr that feels good...

No, it's because I don't preach and pretend I only do the speed limits when 95% off us don't

Why lie just to get acceptance from others?

It's bullshit and fucking comical, especially threads I've read before with people going, you're a dick when they do it themselves

I got spotted and I admitted the time I had, good time in fact, hell no I'm not bullshitting, just like 1000's off others do daily on the motorway

Like I said I don't drive like a cont everywhere, I just get lead foot from time to time on my own private roads

for some reason albeit because you are female, outspoken or generally accepted by the forum you can get away with such remarks where others would be slated heavily.

i wonder how many posts contain 'private road' or 'private runway' when 90% of the time it's bowlarks!

i like a straight talker you always know where you stand, not hiding behind your keyboard in a holier than thou fasion!

i've been on clubpolo for over a year, completed around 1300 posts but i never feel part of the forum.

on seatcupra.net and around 250 posts i felt more part of the forum than i ever did on cp.

i only really think about this when a newbie posts up the 'hi newbie' thread and i think about saying 'hi welcome to the forum' but seems false if you don't feel part of the forum. would seem a bit strange to me a sub 10 post'er welcoming you to a forum like they are an integral part of it.

i know it probably can't be measured in post counts but there must be a turning point where you feel you're part of it, not just visiting?

so when and why did you become / feel as though you are part of the forum?

i know how u feel dude!

i no longer feel like that i really used to like it and feel part of it about 2 years ago.

there was loads of banta and it was a really good crack. all that seems to have gone now.

Disagree totally with that comment, but I'm not getting in that debate :disgust:

Yeah, it is bollocks but were not fucking stupid mate, that's like handing yourself in when we're already targets enough as it is :?

Meh.

The thing is with dirrt shes quiet in real life  keyboard warrior much

I am quiet :smirk: I'm a people watcher and my gob gets going when I feel my input is needed.

I would also like to add this for background music whilst reading :smirk:

i was taking anything away from you, but there is no denying you get away with alot that others don't. i enjoy reading your posts as they don't tip toe about.

i myself admitted to having a run against a bmw and i was really slated down to the ground by many regulars.

This sounds a bit like one of those help sessions for people with low confidence.

Haha, i can imagine it now...."hello, my name is.......(add your name)........ and i'm a saddo with a polo and no friends! lmfao

IMO it helps to get to meets and shows and just go and chat to people, I know loads of people on here up and down the country and all it took was just put a 'my name is' sticker on at polo show and go round chatting to people

NO, you're a lurker Jon, admit it. You stand by people and try and look interested! lol.

I have nothing clean to add in response to your thread.

Nothing new there then!

I've met quite afew people from on here, either at shows/meets or buying/selling stuff.

Anyone who doesn't feel part of the forum should get to a meet and just randomly chat to people. The polo show is wicked for that.

WTF :? I just don't agree with your previous posts that's all and even more so this one

How do I get away with more than most :?

I've been banned twice and I can step out of line like say ginge wand walshy can, it's more pushing your luck than anything because my jokes get taken seriously, because I'm female they get taken as bitchy when they're not. I don't post as much as I could on a lot off stuff because I get misread so it's easier to shut up, I get watched like a hawk on here!

hello.jpg

Like that jon?

i let alot of stuff slip as some of it actually contributes to the interesting nature of some threads.

Dirt - you missed abit. Should say

HELLO MY NAME IS DIRT

NOW F*** OFF!

lmao

I don't care jon, I was just saying :-p

I just don't like being told I get treated differently and get away with more shit? When I don't feel I do and nor do I want too tbh. Really don't get all this!

I know who I know and get on with who I do, that's just how it is.

True  I'll let someone else edit that haha, I had that saved from years ago, I'm Dirrt now

your allways causing shit u jesus!

sort it out!

bloody women

 How am i?

Haha do one simmy :disgust::-p
