The time has come for me to put my beloved GTD up for sale!

Make and Model:

Mk2 Golf in Bright Blue Metalic

Engine

1.6 TD (pre TDi era - with no real engine electronics to go wrong)

Chassis

Lowered suspension - unknown brand, on the car when I brought it.

Wheels/Tyres and Brakes

15" TSW 5-Spokes with Toyo Proxies (rears v.g, fronts part worn), stopping power is MK1 style vented discs with Green stuff pads

Mileage:

218K ... runs very very well returned 51.6mpg on my last run upto glasgow! We managed 520 miles to the tank, a personal best.

Good points:

This car has been a great daily driver for nearly the last year, with several trips to scotland under its belt with no complaint.

Power Steering, GTi Brakes, Toyo's with suspension make for a firm but emensly fun, agile, safe ride.

Central Locking - doors, boot and fuel filler cap all work perfectly.

Updated main headlights - Philips 80% brighter xenon gas bulbs

Metal Sliding roof

Main and Spare Key

It has a spare tyre and I think it may have the jack and accesories but i've never had to use them.

Towbar fitted but not used by myself (told electrics work by previous owner but not tested)

Services by my local "trusted" mechanic every 10k - last service 216k

Some history, mostly MOT's, V5C and other receipts i've collected along the way.

I'll also throw in a spare alternator and starter motor (very hard to source these days - GTD Specific)

New parts:

Cambelt & water pump@ 198k

Oil Cooler + T Peice Connecting coolent hose

Rear wheel barings

Gearbox engine mount

Front Top mounts

Thermostate + Coolent housing

Main headlamps replaced

Gearbox oil changed (helped with the usual mk2 crunches when cold)

Other odds and sods replaced which I can't remember.

This has been my daily for work which is a requirement for my job thus no expense spared on part replacement

Bad points:

Electric windows need abit of attention, 2 work (pas front is good, drivers rear is sluggish), drivers front has a machnical mech, pas rear is electric but seized but motor is willing. Dash lights work intermittently, loose connection.

There are a couple of small rust spots, one on the front egde of the bonnet and I think another on the drivers door lower down.

The front lower panal below the plate is getting abit brittle but thats ok as i'll throw in a brand new replacement panal which just needs painting.

In general a little TLC needed but nothing more.

Asking £600 - GTD's are getting a little rare to come by these days especialy in this colour, grab your self a bargain. We are about most evenings and weekends but no time wasters please, car is sold as seen.
