I'm was hoping some one could tell me what my button on my key does.

when i took it apart it had a battery inside and somthing else, not sure what it was. I'm not sure if its some kind of transmitter or not buts its not an LED which i first thought i could be.

they key just has one silver button in the middle of the key. my car is a polo mrk7 05 plate. and is the e 55ps model.

i have got a picture of it but not sure how to post it lol.

any info would be great thanks.
