All it takes is a socket, hammer and wheel brace.

I've just spent the last month trying to get locking nuts off the borbets, due to the taper on the recess the bolt is in you CAN NOT get the remover in.. drill bits wont work and i will be fucked if I'm paying the £15 for a mega stong diamond bit thingy ma bob and i cant get a hammer and chisel in the hole as its too deep and you cant get any swing on the nuts. fail

are they genuine vw ones by any chance?

All it takes is a socket, hammer and wheel brace.

not always, my mate lost his locking nut thing we tried every thing from smacking a socket on it to welding a extension bar from a socket set on to it, he even drove it around for nearly a week with the other 4 nuts undone to see if it would loosen off a bit. in the end he had to make a tool at work to cut the end off it.

although that was the first time i'd ever seen the socket and hammer trick not work.

They're only meant to be on hand tight, then a quarter of a turn using a wheel brace aren't they?

My locking nuts have a spinning case so you cant hammer a socket over them. Its like a puzzle printed into the head of the bolt  that only the key will fit perfectly into. Cant even over tighten them incase the pattern is damaged slightly and the key doesnt fit. 45 squid, but meh, they wont half slow a wheel bandit down :-)

Christian you noob, cant beleive you dont have any at all

*edit*

Here they are, a bit cheaper now

i have some uber uber locking wheel bolts,

i tried the mcgard ones and although they may be strong against thieves I'm not suprised as they are made of cheese and even with the key i had to use locking wheel nut remover twice as the mechanic put them on too tight and they just round off so easily.

Christian you noob I'm well having them

Do you really think it's wise to go telling the whole world that someone off here with some pretty pimp wheels doesn't have locking nuts?

You never know what sort of thieving little shits are reading these forums!
