Plans from now include a German spec rear light, White german style plate for rear (for shows) and lower the front to 60mm

lovin the progess matey, keep it up, just wondered wher did you get the plates mate up?? also my friend has a brand new in the box german spec rear light

  • Author

cheers mate. i got the plates off ebay a while back, one of those offer things. took nearly 2 weeks to come but only cost £19 for the pair posted.

and oo! :| is he selling it? i'm wondering whether it would be easier to just tint the light i have red, or buy a proper german one :/

yeh its in the for sale section, have a browse, his name is renegade440 if tht helps :)

looking good man, gotta love the steel blue!!

i see what you mean about the bodywork on that GT, thats a bit nasty but I'm sure its fixable.

i think your boot lock is upside down on your genesis dude.. i could be wrong but i thought they usually sat flush with the boot plynth.

  • Author

cheers mate, yeah I'm sure it's fixable but it's just the hassle to do it. it's had a slight front end ding at some point so the front is a bit bent in places. i'd like to sort it out to keep an original GT but a conversion seems easier atm :/ plus i love the steel blue colour, and i'd ideally like to get the GT sprayed in that, so i duno, i'll start thinking about it more seriously when the time comes.

and i'll have a look at the boot lock, although it locks fine so i'm not too fussed about it  but cheers for pointing it out

Looking good; I wanna see this GT conversion pleaseeeee... NOW!

haha, nobody would like to see it more than me  just don't have the time, and plus i'd have no idea where to start xD

i still need to decide whether to do a conversion or fix up the GT. Keeping an orginal GT would be nice but a conversion also sounds good as i'm more attached to the Genesis, with it being my first car you knowww. ahh decisions decisions

Likewise; tbh a think I'd go for the conversion. Then you'll end up finding out what goes on under the bonnet on MK3's :)

So if anything goes wrong, you'll have idea where to look.

yeah that's true, a conversion does sound the best idea to me, i think my dad see's differently though  ah well.

plus if you do a sneaky conversion you can have a nice GT with really cheap insurance at this age :ninja:

Extremely nice manager at my Co-op didn't fancy giving me any hours for a month or so, so i've had to cancel my insurance as i have no money.

Need to pay my parents back for the last month of insurance, the rest of the money for the GT and a little bit of dosh for the suspension which i still haven't paid them back :( so.. no decent updates til atleast new year i'd say.

Although, my plan is to convince my dad to take it off the road (as he's still driving it) and stick the GT lump in :ninja:

We'll see what happens, i even considered selling both cars, saving up a bit more and buying a mini

that sucks dude!

to me it would be a no brainer, get the GT engine in :D

yeah i'd love to, but i'd need my dads help as i wouldn't have a clue where to start. and convincing him to do that isn't really that likely
