Not had anything to update this with for ages but FINALLY something, some people may remember i bought a 40/40 kit, but soon realised the front just didn't sit low enough for my liking, so purchased a 60/40 spring set to nab the fronts from, which sat doing nothing for a year and a half.

Well thanks to my dad helping out (saving me mega mega garage dolla) today they were finally swapped :D :D here's some pics of it afterwards:

Chuffed to say the least. Thought it was a good excuse to give the car it's first wash in about 5 or 6 months and go take some more pictures:

Need to get some money together and put some tyres on my audi wheels for shows.

I think i may tint the headlights to tie in with the black bonnet, and have a completely black front end.

Next month I'm going to be looking out for a full GT conversion for it so if anybody hears or knows of one, please let me know! i'll stop ranting now...

what happened to the GT?

Looks so much better man :)

I say get the audi alloys back on, give them a quick refurb if needed too!

what happened to the GT?

It's in his garage i think mate

why not just nick that full conversion?

Woop!

It's on the drive

but i do have valid reasoning for not using it as a conversion:

when the tax year is up i can claim back a nice amount of dosh, so the plan is to get the GT running and road worthy (not that much involved tbh, just a bit of freshening up), and then buy a conversion to put into mine, so in the end i have 2 GT's :D by leaving the GT standard i'll have more money to do bigger and better things with the genesis.

then i'll just let my dad use the red one cos he would have done most of the work. i'd prefer to keep my car, theres a nicer base there, and i want to learn whilst doing the engine conversion etc.

theres been many ideas thrown about for the GT but this seems the best one! and is much more affordable and less time consuming than other options

bit of an update!

got a few goodies for the car, new standard discs and pads bought and fitted, clear indicators (as GSF only had clears, so the GT got my old orange ones i got new clears!), some new wiper blades so now i can see when the hideous rain returns! and sprayed up my badged grill again to switch over.

unfortunately i broke a clip on one of my G60 centres so i've put the steely centres on for now til i can find a spare.

OH and some fucker decided to key the passenger side again last night so i have two near identical scratches running through the wing, door and rear quarter. makes me afraid to leave my car anywhere :paranoid: cant wait for the day i catch someone having a go at it though :smirk:

anyways heres an up to date pic! :D

Been doing a few bits and bobs on the car, ordered these from venom:

strutbraces.jpg

Full strut brace kit and some bonnet lifters for a bit of snazziness  although the strut braces had the front lower missing cos they were out of stock :( should be a week apparently.

So far the bonnet lifters and rear strut brace are fitted, and i bought some tyres today and got my audi alloys back on! Will fit the front braces when the lower one arrives.

Oh and i got a set of legal pressed plates which freshened it up nice! It's dirty atm but gonna give it a good clean on friday before Volksfest, pictures :D :

After having the wheels on the handling seems really strange, like light and loose, sometimes kind of jerky. But after a little test drive with the wider tyres it seems to grip and corner ok nothing seems too wrong :? be worth an inspection though, i'll have a look around tomorrow.

Atleast its looking pretty nice for volksfest now though so I'm happy!!

Edit:-

Forgot i also have this on order to whack in the window or on my roof rack if I'm taking my bmx to weekend shows!

It may make more sense to some of you than others ;):smoke: :smoke:

looking proper well dude. love it. how much were the bonnet lifters if you don't mind me asking?

also, the steering will be normal; mine is the same, changing the wheels make a hell of a stupid difference.

corey you bleddy stoner

Like i've said on fb looks good man :) wheels make all the difference! haha

Also to do with the steering, when swapping my wheels over, my standard alloys felt alot heavier to drive with whereas when I put my BBS' back on it was much lighter, think it's something to do with the width of the wheel/tyre? more surface area or something possibly? heh

Cheers mate! They were £15 off venom, JOM, not sure how much you'd get raped on postage though i got mine the same time as the braces!

Thanks bruddah, i knew it would feel different but it doesnt feel how i remember when i had these wheels on before :S or my steelies which are the same size wheel and had the same size tyre.

Maybe its cos i've lowered the front more since? or its completely fine and i've just got used to driving on standard steels now and am stressin' over nothing

Unless like a wheel falls off or something then don't blame me heh

haha time will tell mate, I'm gonna go up the moors soon and throw it around a little, see how it goes

Looks really good on the white wheels.

Looked a lot better in the flesh than the pictures when i saw it.

you reckon? i think it looks better in pictures, you can't notice the scratches and little dents here and there.

but thanks 8-) i'd rather it look better for real than in pictures though so ideal!

Edit:

just a few photos i took today taking the car for a little drive:

cheers bud.

Front lower strut brace arrived today, fitted it and it seems to be a lot lower down than i thought it would, i have about an inch ground clearance at the lowest part of the brace. Are they meant to be this low down? I'll upload a picture later on when I'm at home, opinions would be appreciated, don't want to rip anything off the underside of the car by accident! so if it cant be raised up so it might have to come off :/
