Depends whether you got PAS as to whether it'll be good. It'll just make turning harder if you haven't especially with a 280mm.

i had a 300mm wheel on my old polo without pas. parking was a lil interesting at times, but otherwise it was fine.

probly my fave mod to my whole car

with a healthy slam & low offset wheels my car is so fun to drive

everyone who has a drive in it says it feels like a go kart cos the steering wheel

would recomend one to anyone & the price aswel you cant go wrong

iv got a 280 momo btw

FUCK THE AIR BAG

I don't think they even taste that great, and I'm always hungry after so they are pointless really

mcdonalds no

KFC yes

You mean people actually like the taste of that shit? Fuck.

I suppose I liked it when I was a kid, but antime I go to McShit its because its convinient, not because I like how overcooked bulls helmets taste.

yeah i know what your saying about the hunger, but i do really like the taste of bigmacs. i'm not a big fan of KFC tho, give me a red rooster over a KFC any day

i wanta team 280mm but i havnt got pas in the golf so i dout il be able to turn the wheel when i need to park it

Do you have any pics of yours riskie?

I'm guessing your interior is similar to a 6n?

I wouldnt mind running one, just the fact that an airbag could save my life...

and diff people have diff opinions and thats what i wanted to see

my dash is a 6n2 dash.. sorry but no photos. (someone will hava photo of theirs tho. ;))

..wasa photo of my old 6n with a 280mm somewhere on here?!?!?

david.

Older cars dont have airbags so it's not as if they 100% save your life if you do have them

Aftermarket wheels look better, feel nicer etc.. and the teeny weeny ones give mucho scene points!!!!1

Would you only really be able to feel the effect of a smaller wheel if it was lowered and tht?

mines still standard springs atm, so I'm guessin if i did want one to wait till its lowered...

i love driving with a small wheel, 300mm in the golf doesn't make it easy slowly... but i just take it. Man up

who needs airbags when you have a 4-point racing harness?

without a little wheel it feels like your driving a boat

having a little wheel makes your driving fun! so for that reason it has to be done

my mum said that i should get rid of my mk3 and get a car with air bags because they are safe... bul shit lol so i made her get in strap up the 4 point harnesses i had just installed and try to simulate a crash... in my car an air bag realy would be pointless cos you cant even get neer the steering wheel with your face lol its awsome and tiny wheels are brilliant too (with the exeption of parking lol)

just ordered my momo wheel can't wait

I dont mind not having an airbag,i dont intend to use one.

Before the safety-feature craze of the early 90's,people poked fun at Volvo drivers for being so safety conscious. But more the problem was the way Volvo drivers would pull out on you, because they felt invincible. Now look at the state of the roads - proverbial Volvo drivers everywhere.

Perhaps removing an airbag is more a safety feature than fitting one..

It does actually make sense. I've driven a few things with PAS, ABS, and shit loads of other 3 letter adjectives and always feel a lot happier jumping into my Polo with almost no safety features.

i agree. if i can find a good way of doing it I'm gonna ditch the pas on my polo. haven't got abs or anythin else.

I've got harnesses too, you wont get near the steering wheel!

Yeah,id do that. Manual steering just has so much more life to it.

Its no surprise that hydraulic steering gives the driver a more remote/detached feeling than a direct link, really.

I dont know which 6n models came with manual steering but that'd be the way forward - means having to remove your steering rack, pump, pipework and replace it with the manual rack from one in a breakers.

Dont forget you'll need the smaller alternator belt, and observe for any differences i may have missed out.

The low spec L models came without PAS as far as I am aware
