Indicator Noise?

Featured Replies

I'm guessing the relay for the indicators in my mk5 is playing silly buggers as after you've indicated and the stalk resets, it keeps clicking behind the dash but twice as fast, is this likely to be a fuse problem or a knackered relay?

Forgot to add, when the turn the key (turn electrics on) the relay starts clicking

put you are hazards on walk round and check all you are bulbs 1st mate

Usually when the indicators speed up it's a bulb that's gone out. So yeah, as above check all your indicators are working.

Did that yesterday, all working :?

get you are relay out and do the drop test , this can be done on bulbs 2 lol get it and throw it on the floor if it smashes it was no good lol , na seruiously u need a new relay only a few quid

make sure no wires are cut or if you have changed lights you cut the wires and connected wrong ones

Was thinking it may be a new relay, but the full beam won't stay on, it'll only flash so am guessing it may be the stalk?

remeber your lights ahve to be on for your main beam to stay on. i made a idiot out of myself doing this before i thought the main beam wouldnt stay on but you have to physically have your main headlights on in order for your main beam to stay on

hope this helped.

any help on how to remove the stalk?

any help on how to remove the stalk?
You'll need the remove the steering wheel

is it easy to put it all back? and how can you get to the screw holes?

it seems really hard to access.

thanks

i tried and failed. i couldnt get the steering wheel off in my mk5.

i removed the plastic covers and saw 2 holes behind the steering wheel. there doesnt seem to be screws in there though?

or if there was i couldnt see properly.

also tried the other method and tried to find the relay. i followed the noise and removed the dash and it was coming from hazard switch. couldnt find the relay though.

help please!
