Yet Another Airbag Topic

Featured Replies

doing some work on next doors 6n (R reg) polo with included engine change etc etc - all conducted with battery disconnected.

however now done and working the airbag light remains on!

I've plugged it into vagcom to clear all the engine faults after he had basically driven it to destruction when oil pump failed - and have also attempted to clear the airbag faults, which works for about 20 seconds.

initially there were 2 airbag system faults one of which does not come back now.

the fault that returns is "drivers airbag igniter resistance too high N95" which to me sounds as if there is no loop for the system to check if the ignition system will work. I've been through all the connections and attempted to reset which it does for a while then comes back usually when handling the steering wheel.

has anyone got any useful knowledge on these!?

as i understand if i change the airbag unit i will need to reprogram the car for the new unit?

thanks in advance.
