6n Central Locking Faulty

Featured Replies

Just purchased a S plate 1.4 Dragon Green which has been sat doing nothing for 6 months.. No Mot or Tax for £350. I just took it for an MOT and it passed...admitedly I put two new tyres on it and a centre section of exhaust. So we are well chuffed.

Thing is the central locking seems to be a bit dicky on the drivers side with the key ( it does function with the door shut and pushing the pin down ) so think the system is fine.

The door was a lock was a little tight so sprayed some white brake grease in the lock which has freed it off but not the system will not lock on the key..does anyone have any suggestions as I'd like to retain the original lock set as we have two full sets.

Also could someone suggest source of good quality parts. what is the feeling about GSF ? I've used them in the past but only as they were on my doorstep, anyone else worth using ? or brand of parts to avoid.

I'll post up some pictures of the condition as soon as possible but needless to say it needs a good clean so I will do some before and afters.

Don't get me wrong this isn't going to be a modded car or anything as I only got it for the wife to ferry our two kids about but would like to make it look a bit more modern with clear front indicators/repeaters and some slightly smoked rear clusters. ( Are these GTI units if so where is worth getting them from.

Also after some alloys VW genuine ones as dont want to invalidate any insurance etc.

Can you get dragon green door handles ?

Sorry too much waffle but appreciate any feedback comments.
