Painted the rear axle (Didnt paint the face as i also refurbed the rear wheels at the same time and needed to fit them back on.

Cleaned all the crap around the filler neck to stop it rusting.

It will be running tomorow, in the garage Tuesday and in a show n shine comp on Saturday.

Looks great, I am really pleased to see the old girl getting some TLC Mike! You have been very busy obviously. Have you managed to sort out the engine idling issue?

Well the carb and timeing wasnt changed much actually, the main issue was the fuel pump not doing much so there is a new one on now.

I have replaced the thermo stat, red and black temp sender, vacum advance, rotar arm etc so if pretty happy with itself now.

I will get some better/cleaner pics after this weekend hopefully if the weather is nice.

i have a white one too and it looks pretty much like yours, although it is the gt version here in portugal didnt know that the coupe S was the top version of the mk2 in england

i have a white one too and it looks pretty much like yours, although it is the gt version here in portugal didnt know that the coupe S was the top version of the mk2 in england

Thats the one mate, the garage fitted the wrong temp sensor and under pressure (As in driving from stroud to gloucester) it poped out going up birdlip so basically the car steam cleaned itself

Had to lower the tone haha, yes i have been cleaning/painting/fixing this on all my days off for the last 2mths. Naturally my bro did his bit, and drove the Polo to the show as the Golf next to it in the pics is mine as well.
