is that a years no claims with being passed a year as well tho? cause this lad will be classed as a new driver even tho he has 1ync so i'm guessing it would be even more for him, and as you say thats just on an 8v. also bsj didn't you have a crash recently? if so even if it wasn't your fault if you claimed it will still effect your insurance. seriously get some quotes and see what they are saying firstno point buying a car you can't afford to insure.

Also, RedRoller... There's fuck all wrong with the suspension on a 205 or any french car with torsion beam suspension, if you can drive.

its funny how the french persisted with it when everyone else was leagues ahead, and they still do today.

i'll have to learn how to drive then, i've obviously not been doing it long enough!

Maybe what I said was wrong, I've only been driving for 2 years and I've written a car off, so I can't be the best judge for a good driver, BUT, I totally, totally disagree with what you say about french cars.

i very much doubt your insurane will be as low as you think once you've passed, even with 1ync you'd still be a new driver trying to insure some thing quick. Insuring a car on a provisional is so cheap because you have an experianced driver sat next to you. I'd get some quotes before putting too much thought in to buying any of the cars mentioned

So how much will it be going up by ??

the only way to tell is by phoning up your insurance and getting a quote, every one is different so there's no set amount when it comes to insurance. explain to them that xxxx is the car your looking into getting when you pass your test and your trying to get an idea of how much it would cost you to insure when that time comes. it might not go up a lot, it might go through the roof, but from my experience of insurance i wouldn't get my hopes up

i hope it goes your way and you can get a decent car, but if not then don't feel any shame in rocking a 1.3 for a year, most of us have been there and its not as bad as you'd think, just having the feel of freedom is enough to make up for the fact its not a fast car, besides, its not all about speed or power.

What the fuck? I'd love to see an insurance company accept a years no claims as a learner driver. Get your license first, then think about buying a car.

how do you have a no claims bonus with 2 accidents? and also in some threads you say you liked the pug and then in this you say you hate it. you will not be able to insure a fast car unless your willing to pay like £2000 for insurance.

from reading all your threads and stuff i think you just make a load of shit up.

  • 2 weeks later...

i'm keeping the polo :-D

there was no point in getting a new project when i had soo mean plans for the polo

the reason i was asking about a new car was because i was trying to think of a different car over than my polo

thats why there's all the fast cars in the list

what a pointless thread! worry about getting a liscence before looking at vr6 gti and type r's, I'm nearly 21 with 1ncb and 3.5 years driving experience and i would struggle to get insured on them!
