My ex had one (1.4 16v iirc?) and it was fookin terrible. my 1043cc mk2 polo was a better built car but if you're only gonna use it to tow a caravan, so be it.

If they are as much like the old Rover 400's as they look then extreme lean in the corners and lift off oversteer will be a common occurance for you

i got an M plate bmw 525 td for that money, and there is nothing wrong with it.

btw headgaskets are nice and easy on them, which is good then they go so much

My dads got a rover 75 but i always say its a poor man's jag lol! Rather have a passat than a rover for sure!

Had a 1.6 16v Rover 25 and it was a pretty good car. Did the headgasket admittedly but apart from that I had no worries with it. For £300 you can hardly complain, you could just about get a mediocre mk3 polo for that.

Its not really british though, its a honda civic underneath but with a shite engine instead.

Can't complain for £300, at that prive if it starts, stops and goes (30mph) then you can't complain. Though i'd sell it to try n make a little money
