9n third brake light problem please help!

Hi there, I had a problem with the third brake light on my boot of my facelift model polo, I tried replacing the diodes and that didn't work, so i replaced the whole brake light and still no joy, there doesn't seem to be a slot in the fuse box either according to the manual, can anyone shine a little light on the subject for me(sorry for the terrible pun).
