Baffles me

Featured Replies

What tends to baffle me more than the fog lights though is seeing a rear wiper on intermitent on a dry sunny day :?, does that person ever look in their rear view mirror ?, i think not, also they are so unaware that they switched it on when it was raining probably days before and it's been going ever since, what does that say about their driving ?

X2 - There's certainly something to be said for simply smiling about it and letting them carry on driving with their pants down..

And the top two quotes of the week awards go to ...

This boils my piss aswell. It's even funnier to see when there actually is fog, people drive around with both their foglights on and their dip/main beams on, completely oblivious to the fact that this completely defies the point of having the fog lights in the first place. Police need to come down harder on this!

It really hacks me off, but there isn't much you can do about it. My dad has been pulled for having fogs on when he didn't need them, no fine however.

I do tend to just think fuck it to people who cant drive, but if they are behind me blinding me or something its a bit different, doesnt help that breadvans are low down as standard it goes right in your eyes!

it doesnt give me road rage as such, just makes me wonder what some people have in their heads to replace their brains when they drive!

The rear wiper on a sunny day makes me chuckle, such poor driving lol and if its dry it usually scrapes and squeaks anyway! do they just pay no attention to strange noises their car makes? haha the other one is people who use right hand lanes to go straight on 'before 12 o clock' on a roundabout, did they even do a driving test?

lol

you live in berkshire thou.. the home of the asshole driver

It dont really bother me as I'm busy lookin ahead!!

try twisting that little switch on your rear view mirror!!

works every time

 They should teach you about the reflective headlining on driving lessons

i saw a good one today, it was actually foggy and some tit was driving towards me with just one side light and one fog light on...

And headlights - I'm not one for laws,we shouldn't need them and Labour have introduced enough new laws to see us through the next century..

But - what's the limit with headlight height? 4x4's wouldn't bother me so much if they didnt beam straight through my rear window,no need man, they should have their lights in the bumper like trucks do.

YEh i do that but then i also happen to have two other mirrors, one on either side of the car, which are quite useful but also happen to funnel light straight into my eyes :p

The other annoying thing is a lot of people in 4x4s are idiot road bullies and drive right up my arse cos I'm in an old polo, which makes things even worse!

Makes me wanna get out and punch their lights out  no pun intended of course :ninja:

mirrors on the side? iv always wondered what they were for :paranoid:

everyone round my way must of sensed your dismay for fogs because not

1 person had them on! even i had to think twice incase you were lurking about!!

:lol::lol:

chillll winston.. seriously thou dude it's really not worth letting it get to you at all about it

mikeys quote pretty much sums it up "There's certainly something to be said for simply smiling about it and letting them carry on driving with their pants down.. "

If someone is too close for comfort then let them pass, pull over if you have to.. but really not worth getting into any sort of confrontation with them (ie shining a 12v spotlamp back at them  ) over it as that can lead to all sorts of avenues that you dont really wanna go down

I'm not wound up about it just think its dangerous! :)

I only did the spotlight trick once because the guy was literally about 2 feet off my bumper in a range rover, it probably shone right underneath him :p

Was just really dangerous and no way i could let him past/overtake

I'm actually a chilled out driver although it doesnt sound like it i know! most of the time i just mutter 'what a prick' to myself and carry on lol other times i just laugh at peoples stupidity :)

yeah, pisses me off too the fog light thing

i just treat it like full beam

put my full beam and fogs on...

Haha, my brothers mate does this. I get on with him really well. He thinks it looks cool. I grassed him out to his GF who works in the Police. :)

update on my foglight anger!

Walking through royal holloway uni today and walked past a merc with the lights including fog lights still on, in daylight, guy standing at the boot getting some stuff out. So as i walked past i casually said 'you've got your fog lights on mate' and he replied, really stuck up and posh 'oh, they come on automatically, actually'

I felt like going 'No they fucking dont! dont talk bullshit its only because you've got the switch turned to the fog light setting! automatic foglights my fucking arse, they obviously dont work if its daylight and not foggy in the slightest!'

Instead i simply said' oh well, they must be crap, its not even foggy'

he looked a bit sheepish after that but i bet he didnt switch them off :p

One step forward for mankind..

you don't beleive in laws and you are sarcasticly saying 'one step forward for mankind'? do you beleive in anarchy and lynching then?

Sometimes, you just had to be there.

You are aware of daylight running lights? a lot of volvos and stuff have them. Think some mercs do.

yeah, there sidelights, not fogs

Yeah i thought they were either in, or below the headlights like the audi led ones

volvos generally run with dipped beam, because of swedish laws

but these were actually the fog lights, mounted low and seperate on the bumper, without a doubt

Side lights are typically 3-5 watts.

Dipped beams are 21 watts.

Main beams are 55 watts.

Fog lights are 55 watts.

Fog lights are by far the most powerful lights on the front of a car (level with full beams),and anyone running them during clear weather should have their bonnet slammed on their face.
