Jimmy got pulled

From reading your first post al li can say is its your own fault. Being cheeky to a police officer will never get you anywhere, id be giving your girlfriend a major bollocking if it was me.

Secondly you battery was loose and as said is an MOT fail so you cant argue that.

Why people on here run ridiculously wide wheels that stick out i will never know. it doesn't do anything for the cars handling or your arches every time they scrape lol!¬ If you can afford wide wheels then make sure you can afford arch work.

Think they were pretty harsh with the points side of things though and this mysterious bush that they never found.

i know the whole sticking out the tongue thing that was done by my girlfriend probably didnt do me any favours and i dont know why she did it :(

the battery moves a little but wouldnt come out of the tray, but as said yes it would probably fail its MOT because of it. but he didnt have to look under my bonnet if he thought i was speeding, he was just looking or anything he could that he could write me a ticket for. (although i know that obviously if it is an MOT failure then it needs sorting)

the reason i run those wheels is because i like them, they dont stick out as far as some others I've seen, and my plan has always been to roll and flair the arches in aid of covering them a bit more and to stop them scrubbing - but it is my fault for not getting around to doing it yet. this situation has prompted me to do so though.

but yeah, i think he was just determined to write me a ticket for whatever he could find.

yeah definately FTW

lol no way! i wanted some for ages, haven't even finished paying for them yet :D

i would deffo put a complaint in about the steering bush.

on what grounds did he think it was worn? did he look at the bushes on the wishbone/steering rack/coloum? did he check the wear on the tyres? is he actually qualified to diagnose faults with vehicles? the battery yeah ok thats obvious, but a lot of faults most peeps who dont know about cars wont know about. was he traffic or just a plod?

and your girlfriend sticking her tounge out at him has got nothin to do with your car. did he say anythin to her?

police wonder why no-one takes any notice of them nowadays. respect has to be earned its not automatic!

things like this really wind me up!

yeah i think i may well do, but maybe not the wheels or bttery, although I'm not sure yet lol.

i dont know ? he steered full lock to the right, then laid on the floor to shake things about underneath, then did the same on the other side and then looked at it from the engine bay and said he couldnt see anything but he thinks that its worn. he just knocked the wheels into full-lock over and over again and said "can you hear that ? its knocking" but the only noise was that of the wheels being put into full lock.

i dont know, he was in a beemer estate, maybe traffic though as the other officer had the speed gun on him at all times.

he didnt even look at my girlfriend.

and i agree, he's getting himself nowhere being an arsehole and making stuff up.

You're innocent until proven guilty by a court of law - or by agreeing to a charge (confession).

Do you agree to the charge? If not,let them take it further. Or if so,then take the wrap.

I didn't agree. Same charge - battery was loose. Copper said it was in a dangerous condition. I didnt agree,so he took me to court.

In court i said i admitted the battery could be shoved half inch east/west but it was clamped into the tray and couldn't go anywhere - therefore it wasnt dangerous.

The court agreed,i walked free.

lol no way! i wanted some for ages, haven't even finished paying for them yet :D

but if you sell them then you will have paid them off and you wont have to worry about gettin arches rolled/getting stopped by the fuzz 8-)

Jon

I just can't believe there are court cases about car batteries ffs

I just can't believe there are court cases about car batteries ffs

yeah i agree.

but if the police had some sense (admittedly some do) it wouldnt come to that.

to be honest id rather go to court then get 3 points

did you have to pay any costs mikey?

I doubt it, as he won the case. Nice one Mikey 8-)

Jimmy, what did they actually give you the points for? or was it just because in their opinion it was dangerous?

Scan the form in and post it up

I was gonna pay up,but it was a mate who told me that id done nothing wrong.

The car had passed the MOT like that, but i didn't tell the court that.

Court just shook their heads and just told me i was free to go,when i explained my side of the story about the roadside event.

Same mate was with me,sat at the back of the court, and we just walked out of court and went for a beer.

police wonder why no-one takes any notice of them nowadays. respect has to be earned its not automatic!

totally agree with that statement

it can't be an easy job to do having to put up with cocky little pricks all day, but no need to take it out on normal folk.

yup.

I'm very polite and give it the "yes sir i know I've been very bad. ill never do it again" act and have a laugh and joke with them if they are ok about things.

if they are dicks I'm a nice person (swear filter kicked in there!)! lol

think i should start a thread on things not to say to police when they are arseholes (I'm gonna get done one day for this! lol)! lol

You let them fuck you? :?:-p

Bad luck mate, did they check your insurance to see if your mods were covered or did they just ask you?

obviously they check if the cars insured, you can drive, the cars Motted and taxed?

Seem to have got unlucky a got a copper in a bad mood.

Tommy.

ah see what you did there! lol

no if they try and fuck me about i tell em where to go! lol

Are they my old banded steels? Look to be by the tyres on the front. If so, they aren't illegal (unless you're running spacers), I had them made to perfectly suit the arches and they look ace :D

thankyou for the comments guys.

i was just asked if the mods were declared (which they are) and the car is MOT'd and taxed (but if the car was in such a dangerous condition to which i got the fine and points for, surely it wasnt safe for me to drive it away??)

how much is court going to set me back if i lost though? :(

on the ticket, it only says that the ticket is for driving with a car in "dangerous condition" which is completely his opinion as it has had those wheels on since november and the battery has been like that for a month or so now.

i was a little cheeky to the guy, but wasnt rude and even tried to laugh a few things off, but he was having none of it, the busy bodied little prick - can you tell I'm still wound up by it ??

and yes adam they are your old wheels, but with conti's on the back now as the tread would show with the goodridge's on them, no tread exeeds the arches.

Dude!! that seriously sucks!!! i got pulled over on tuesday round corner from my house all through i was lucky they just checking it wasnt stolen!!!

and saying that they did the hole speeding up on me with out the lights!! i pritty sure they shouldnt be doing that right?!?! so this mean your insurence going try screwing you over?!?! i waiting for day some stupid copper trying screwing me over with this bull crap and i be like oh yea with i work for vw!! lol then he be like oh right yea!!!

If they believed it was in a dangerous condition, surely they wouldn't have let you continue driving, believing it'd render your insurance void?

Some are real cocks man. Fair enough pull you, ok have a go maybe and warm you t o get some things sorted.

But a Fine sounds a lil harsh and points sounds very harsh for somethin so minor., should stick with "battery was fine at mot and i havn't touched it since"

I know a few coppers who are sound, have loads of dodgey confiscated stuff and copyed movies+ games themself.

i think I'm going to contest against it, but i need to know the court costs as i cant afford to lose!

my insurance isnt void, it just might cost more next year when i renew as ill have to tell them that i have 3 points.

i just think he must of been shitting me if he believed it wwas fine to let me drive home...

a fine wouldnt have been so bad, although i still wouldnt be happy. but points will stay with me for the next 3 years :(

Sorry I haven't read the whole post but

If you signed the fixed penalty and took the ticket from the PC that stopped you I don't think you can go to court now. The fixed penalty is your admission and taking the fine / points instead of being prosecuted and going to court.

Think so anyway, you would have had to protest the faults at the time and refused the fixed penalty.
