replacing window seals

hey,

i was washing my 6n the other day and when i got to the rear windows i noticed a thick black dirt running off the seals. my car is a '99 2 door so the rear windows are fixed and cannot be opened. i gave the seals a closer look and found that they have started flaking slightly, its not major but i would like to do something with them. does anyone know if they will definitely need replacing or can i just treat them to rejuvenate the seal? can i buy the seals anywhere online and do it myself or is it a professional job? has anybody else had this problem?
