... then the sun came out and it's stopped working again

Well... She is now officially dead Oil light flickered once yesterday, so knew I had to check oil. Didn't have time yesterday, so was gonna do it tonight after work. Driving home from work on the M5 and bang, lose power, all lights come on and the engine's gone. Was no oil in it at all!!! Should have checked when it flickered yesterday but didn't think it was that urgent Learnt my lesson!

I have a knight in shining armour though, Monday night I'm picking up the Genesis and that engine will be going in Roxy for £100. Legend! Fucking love this man!

Then I need to make a decision about what to do with the G... May have to G40 the Derby... At this moment in time, I still can't do it. Upsets me. I proper fucking adore my G... But it's not doing any good just sat there but if I can save my pennies I may well 20VT it. Who knows, time will tell. Watch this space!

mk2 golf VR6's do feel wicked to be in but as soon as you have felt the power of a 20vT mk2 golf you will never think of the VR6 engine again. Just different gravy.

Unless you charge the VR6 but then for the money you may as well just gone 20vT.

Back on topic.... fix the G and put a GT engine in the loon. Best way :-) Save for a bit and get the G sorted properly. Someone somewhere must know what is wrong with it. I just don't think you are trying hard enough :-)

Nothing about not doing enough or how hard I'm trying, I haven't got the money to fix it, so there's no point looking at it! I don't get what people don't understand about that? Yeah I can get a diagnosis, but the fix isn't gonna be cheap, so there's no hurry as money is the problem.

I can get a diagnosis at any time off the guy that's doing this engine swap for me.

The G's dead money. It owes me 6K ffs and the more i think about that, the more it pisses me off.

Putting the Genesis in Roxy as I need a car for work ASAP, I haven't got time to fuck about with other engines and doing other things. That means I'd have to buy another engine if I was to GT it? Where's the logic in that if I have no money

I'm only being charged £100 for this swap and I can have my car back by Tuesday/Wednesday next week!

Once that is done I shall then be thinking about putting the G engine in the Derby and whatevers wrong with it, being fixed at the same time!

I understand. No money = No car fixy/moddy. Pain in the ass but i get it. Getting an engine in the derby is priority. I just wanna see the G working. I guess no one wants that more than you though!!

Just the diagnosis might reveal that it isn't going to cost as much as you anticipate meaning G smiles sooner rather than later. If it does turn out that the diagnosis means lots of money required well then you have an amount that you can work towards.

Haha thanks for that reminder Demo... I didn't check it because it was a flicker and I thought I would have had more warning light if it was serious. So I didn't do it straight away. Like I said I have learnt my lesson

Oh dear, these early engines are a bit crap for checking of oil level. Had mine over 4 years and I've never actually had a good idea how much oil is in it. Chances are the oil pump's died on it.

What exactly are they putting in from the genesis by the way? as there could be some compatibility issues.

Whatever is needed to get it running Oh we know that, cross that bridge when he gets too it but he knows what he's doing.

Sorry to hear that you've royally fucked it. If your man needs a good early 1.1 litre crank pistons and block, i've got them here. It might be simpler than an engine conversion. Don't want anything for them.

He's not my man haha he's just a fucking living legend of a friend, came to my rescue like a knight in shining armour haha, actually quite weird. Never known anyone to help someone out for vertually nothing like this before. He heard about it and offered to help me. Even to pick up the Genesis from my psychotic ex haha good times.
