sorry i didnt reply all i didnt realize i had replies! thanks for the comments peeps!

i cant remeber off hand what the dimensions where, but the best option was to get loads of sheets of card and just cut them to fit around the corners of the struts etc, it takes time to get right but i started from the boot and worked my way forward, just cut them all out and lie them in place, then stick them together so that they are rigid, and draw round it onto the mdf :)

on a side note i just took delivery of my new 280mm G60 hubs and carriers for the front.... good times ;)

i ended up cutting mine in half form front to back and then fastening it to 2x2 timbers underneath. how do you get to your spare wheel?

Looks great, rear end looks very nice ;) been watching this thread since the start, inspiring stuf :) preferred the old wheels tho i must say!

The mk5 tailgate been smoothed in with the body?

Well Nice loving this car

I haven't looked at this thread in TOOOOOO Long.

That looks awesome mate :D

what was that you used to get the paint off the show wheels? thanks james

WOW...very nice mate, loving the rear end!

Rear end looks a bit weird.

Think it's because the lights need spacing out a bit to sit flush with the tailgate.

Black roof looks well done though!

Love it mate!!

WOW! this has changed so much since I last looked at this thread! The car looks awesome, is that a mk5 tailgate and bumper? Looks great :D

Inspirational.

well its a mk5 tailgate and lights, with the parts below the lights pulled out to sit flush with the lights and the tailgate, and a mk5 recess plastic welded into place in a 16v bumper with the number plate lights removed and the 6n2 ones in the recess wired up, also all 4 arches have been slightly flared and rolled flat to allow the arches to sit on the lowwest part of the stretch on tyre when i get the air ride kit 8-)

that pic does make it look alot worse than it realy is, here is a pic from the back and it sits perfectly:

and I'm soooooo happy wit the roof its mirror finished and looks phenomenal!

thanks for the kind comments guys, I'm so happy with the outcome, but it needs to go back into the shop to have a few rough edges sorted that they missed, if anyone is in the hampshire area and fancies some work done, i can give nothing but praise to the entire team at totton car body repair, their service was second to none and they kept me informed through every stage, and they will attempt anyhting!, and hopefully they will have some pictures of the proces that i can upload here too :)
