Don't buy the cheap stuff, get some FK Highsports. Mine are over 3 years old, and have never seized, been perfect. Ride is actually more comfortable than stock suspension that comes on golf GTI's etc.

The TA-Technix will be cheap for a reason. As for PhilJ kits, if you send your money don't expect them for about 2 months as a mate of mine found out.

I brought some from sentral took a while to get them and there pretty bumpy ride but good on a cheap budget, my advise would be save for abit and get some fk's there alot better.

I had fks on my 1st 6n when i got it and thought the ta technix cant make much difference, but they do my cars fine in town but on a road with little bumps i feel the lot.

If your planning on using it as a daily and keeping it a while them i think the extra cash is a good investment personally

yea good point lol i do want it for everyday, is there a mid range set u know of abit more comfortable than the tas but not quite as good as the fks, dont want to spend much more than 300, cheers

I had FK AK Supertechs on my old polo, and they were alot more comfortable on than the tas, they come in at just under £300 on venom

The other thing id recommend for comfort and handling is fitting powerflex wishbone bushes as it improves the ride, ther about £50-60

There polyurethane bushes that are used to replace the standard rubber bush, the advantage of fitting them is there alot stronger than the standard bushes that tend to go when you lower cars and can cause tyre wear etc.

There not easy to fit but if you know someone good with cars they may be able to help, I'm gonna get some on order once I've got new collies sorted

as long as you know your buying cheap stuff then there should be no problem, they do what is asked of them very well for what you pay for them

i've had 2 sets of coilovers, 1 lowering kit and a pair of mk1 golf rear coilovers all from phil and they have always turned up within a few days of payment. i know people have had issues but just passing on my experiences.

Yes mate easily, mine was on 15s when i got it an the height was spot on

Poly bushes make the ride more harsh, comfort and handling are two very different things.

You might want to check out AP, Venom's kit. They seem to be a middle ground http://www.apcoilovers.com/

I just think its funny that people have an old car with the standard suspension on it (which probably isn't in the best condition anyway), put some cheap coilovers on it and suddenly they are fully qualified to say that the suspension is excellent even though they have never used anything else. I've used budget stuff, chopped springs, mid-range stuff, high end stuff and I don't claim to know everything. But I think I know more than someone who has just put some cheap coilies on with some shit tyres and though "yep, my car handles mint now".

The KWs are amazing, they are reasonably low but not stupid so I can't drive the thing. Its the way it handles all of the time though, the cheap stuff might be good when your horsing about but even then they tend to bottom out and skip across the road. So sometimes you have to back down, with the KWs it feels a lot more planted and because your not being shaken around the cabin and its still comfortable even when your kicking it about. You can see where your going your not guessing as your shaken about. Plus they've been on the car a year and I've never cleaned them properly, about 3 weeks ago I tried adjusting them and I could do it by hand, my cheap ones had corroded into place by then and would have needed freeing off first.

Personally I can see a HUGE difference in spending £200 and £600 on my suspension. Don't get me wrong, if I went out and bought some runaround 6N for a few hundred quid I'd slap some cheap coilovers on it and be done with it. For the money they are brilliant as long as you know what your getting. But my Lupo is my main car and something I want to enjoy driving and the KWs let me do that, when I'm going to and from places its really comfortable and when I want to kick its head in its still comfortable but doesn't compromise on the handling front.

right its definately between the fk supertechs and the aps now, i got a quote for fitting today for £120 today as i dont really trust myself doing it lol is that a reasonable price?
