cheers guy for yesterday, i still have a lot more to do but with a lot of panels now back on it has eased the task a bit as it now looks like a bit of a car.

looks buff!

Uwww yeee, looks smooth and sexy :D Engine bay looks nice too!

Mate your bonnet release cable, did you build a box around it so its stayed in stock position or is it relocated under the scuttle and a fancy extension built onto the bonnet release? I cant work it out in the pictures :-(

cable exits thro a pipe in the wing so the pull lever locates in the original place.

further hole further up the wing for the cable to go to the catch.

what did youngprodigys actually mean? how did you think of that lol

mine goes under the slam panel- but i have drilled a hole in the face of the bit where it starts to rise- and because my slam panel is custom the slanted face its drilled in is closer to the catch then it would be normally- so I'm afraid your will never go how mine is! il grab a photo if i can later.

oh and the name was something my mate said years ago and it had a weird irony that it was spelt incorrectly- i bought the website domain and the stupid aim was to try and get more hits spelling it incorrectly so that google wouldnt give you a "did you mean youngprodigies"

soon gave up and its been my interweb puterbob name ever since.

haha fair play doood! i did wonder! :)

Just noticed, side skirts are off! how come? Is that one of the panels that needs to go back on or are you selling them :p

shhh ben i am first in line for a set

It's difficult to get the wings off with the side skirts still attached to the car Ben

i would rather sell a kidney then those side skirts. took me 3years to find a set- was on at phil j for a while and nearly decided to buy the mk2 he had them on just for them!

Such an awesome car! So glad your working on it, can't wait to see this again.

Got any closer pics of your bumper supports on the ends of the iron. Great idea btw.

Is it just bent steal pipe with rubber on the tip?

just steel bar bent to suit and finished off with a bit of rubber pipe (silicone hose) to stop any vibration. simple mod which i dont think anyone else has spotted mate- congrats lol

Thats an awesome idea tbf....

May have to steal :ninja:

whats it do? stop the bumpers sagging? if so thats pretty awesome!

Yeah, I'd assume so.

MK3 bumper's are wack! Mine are really bad, good 10mm+ gap between bumper/wing

Rears are gay also!

Awww mate, hope you've gotten the Polo hype back on. I totally know how you feel. Several times I've thought about jacking mine in for exactly the same reason that I spend all day up the garage and have little to show for it. I spent a good few hours searching for the bonnet lifter the other day, to no avail! I guess its worse for you as you've had it built up once already. But I empathise with the sentiment. I'm not going to patronise you with all the 'you'll regret it' shit and groom your big enough ego ( ) by telling you how good this car is, because you already know all that. If you want it, keep it up. I can't see you rushing into a decision. And anyway, who will I have a competition with if this gets binned?

Nice one! May do this when i get time.

Yeah my rear bumper is pretty bad from the side too. :-(

Am i rite in saying you made something to support the rear bumper aswell Kiz?
