G3URO G40 turbo

Featured Replies

Just read through the grief you've had and the arguments people have put forward for driving it. But I'm totally with the idea of not driving it until its perfect (if that was your reason). If i hadn't insured mine already, I'd be taking it apart to get it perfect once the egine was running ok. Still, good to see its fixed (hopefully, unlike the last time!) and hope to see the car again soo. Need to have a snoop around your engine bay :ninja:

Your comment about sitting a watching TV struck a cord too. Since being back from holiday, I've felt no motivation to get on with mine. All I wanna do is laze about and then go to the gym. But a semi successful day today puts things some way towards optimistic.

Keep it up big man

Well the an4 hose and fittings ha an I/d of 5mm and the an3 has an I/d of 3mm and can get te right fittings for both to match from head to turbo its the same stuff from the same company that I got my SS an6 fuel hose and fittings

I know too big a bore you can flood the turbo

No danger of me flooding the turbo, I'm going to have to find the receipt as i cant measure the bore size. its bigger then 3mm definitely! 5mm sounds about right.

i dont know why people are saying i want it perfect - i cant get any wheels to fit, got nowt to do with being perfect.

My fingers have been worn to the bone, I've worked so hard and still wont get to action as the second of the wheels to be repaired has been more work then i though and with only a week to go i cant see it happening:-(

but I've finished 2 of the wheels as I've watched no telly or got much sleep, its encouraged me on a bit after they came out so well but I'm starting to think I've breathed to much paint in with how anal these actually look now.

That is the repaired one, not going to put up photos of the repairs as there's to many and doesn't go into enough detail to stop people jumping in with what should and shouldn't have been done, it was carried out by professionals at a cost - that's all people need to know! i machined the welds back and spent many many hours sanding, smoothing and preparing them, then painting them!

Hows that detailing coming along anyway Simon? you keeping up:-P

How the flying fuck did you do that? Looks incredible! you still amaze me Kiz!

its done using water transfer, thought id give it a go seeing as they needed repainting anyway, i think I've got the colours just right as from 10ft away it just looks black like it used to

Looks like marble effect until you get closer and notice the pattern, really nice little touch imo

:lol::lol:

Kiz, fukin love it! Guy said there was something special i needed to see but i was half asleep when he mentioned it.

Woooaah, i actually don't like the styling but that's pretty dam cool.

I think its very apt for this car tbh, have you read the little phrases in it?

Also, i know you've been mega tight on time but either a black or dark grey paint in the little oval box with the important ''MADE IN ENGLAND'' writing on the dish could be cool :-D

the styling isnt going to be everyones choice, nothing ever is as everyones different. what i have done is themed the wheels to suit the air cooled culture and some of the gothic styling they do- shouldnt be to hard to sell them on! + plain black was boring before.

I'm already on it Ben, the made in england is lined up with the porka badge. need to vet in with my etching tool to re-emboss the letters as the previous owner partially smoothed them out.

Concorse detailing, straight centre caps! gotta be one of the best most detailed show cars on here tbh..... then simon a close second... ofcourse......

its all about having the balls to do something different. I'm no sheep going baaaaaa quick get some bbs splits and bike carbs. the whole car is different to everyone elses- no 1 will ever smooth there bay like mine, no 1 will fit an interior like mine with all those custom parts i made,

Its just me in a nut shell - i dare to be different.

So i can sit here with a right big head this morning- i took a massive risk doing that to them wheels, and I'm over the bloody moon with how good they look, everyone whos seen them in the flesh have been speechless

Wheels look awesome man! What bolts you gomna use for them?

  • Author

standard wheel bolts until i find some good ones. i have some of the new VW wheel bolt caps to cover the old ones for the moment, Alex Grant brought them to my attention and they look good with them on

Ye mate, same with mine on the engine bay front, its too ''scruffy'' for some, works fine for me. dare to be different. :-)

Look forward to seeing this out and about at long last. :-)

Thanks Kiz I shall get the an4 size for turbo feed then and il e running an10 for return same size as my oil cooler shall be

The wheels look absolutely amazing can't wait to see then in person sometime

i shall take a photo when i get chance with a ruler next to it, I'm not certain on the size- and i wouldnt want to ill advise, it would be a waste of money wouldnt it. Return line i ran the standard passat fittings with a longer rubber hose instead of the full steel pipe. god knows what size that is

Just thinking the same. Surely thats a wrap of some sort? Looks good whatever

no, i know fully well what goes into a concourse car, and the judges really do check to make sure everything is lined up. also starts getting bad when they are noticing tyres arent all in the same position to the alloys but its happened.

Saw this today at Edition, stunning G

Looks sweet mate, glad you found your boys after seeing our camp :p

All I told my mate was "there's a guy of CP joining us" - should have seen his face light when Kiz drove up. hahaha

What are the little lines on the dish above Kiz? It looks strange?
