Friday evenings endevaours started late so ended at 6am, back on it the next day about 1 and we were on the road a few hours later, after some smoke fuelled adventures! some pics before fitting the ra

Good work saf, a heads up on changing valve stem seals in stitchu, there was a thread abut this a while back and someone mentioned putting the piston at BDC ramming a load of string through the spark plug hole, turning the piston to TDC so all the string is compressed against the valves, and using a screw driver valve tool thing to relaese the collets, its a bit late now like.

Whens the beast going to be on the road?

hahahahaa mega jank

Just need a new charger feed line as mine snapped. Doh! Pondering over pilfering it off the grey g tomorrow but it means dismantling my only working car =/

Borrowed the grey g's oil feed line today, cars driving well so I'm pleased. Gotta look at re-hanging the exhaust as its knocking alot. Nice to be back in it tho!

Couple of pics inc guages and afm. Has anyone got a yellow vdo oil temp guage going spare?

cheer mofenzel! the guage holes were there for when the AFH was installed! but yeh we went a bit holesaw crazy, i only cut two of the holes in the front panel, left the rest to others and kinda just kept myself busy doing bits on the other side of the car, so i couldnt see the whole front panel murkfest!

cheers mate! the yellow oil temp guage is going in the space where the guage is, on the left, which is currently a volt-meter but its redundant as there is one on the AFM guage. The white one in the middle is a boost guage.

Ill take it the smoke was because the stem seals werent working then? Looks like oil's been getting into cylinder 4 for a long time!

Wonder how long it will take untill there's gauges just completly accross the dash

haha not many more guages to be installed now, maybe just a fuel pressure guage and a proper wideband AFM. although I do have a guage graveyard in the house, about 20 of the bastards... i have issues!

yeah it was the oil stem seal on that cylinder, but it had been breathing heavily for quite a while, and was smoking it tits off when it was last on the road back in january/feb time

Lol, it will look insane!

Good news on the seals then!

hole saw is defo your favorite toy aint it saf

Looks good tho man, dash looks smart.

Tucked up in the unit tonight as I got the grey g back on the road (jon sorted me out a charger feed line) and its now wearing the exips.

Fitting the hnr cup kit this weekend, along with rose jointed steering arms and tca's.

Also undersealing the inner wings and refitting the inner arch liners now I'm positive the boost hoses wont pop off and the oil cooler is free of leaks ( all hidden by arch liners )

Gotta weld up the battery tray and prime and paint the inside too so gonna be busy, but once thats done Ill be sure.the inside is leak free and ready for dynamat and carpet.

Anyway I've been toying with the idea of the interior. Stick with the original striped seats or stick the mk3 g seats in?

gray G on exips...... picture NOW!

the routeys sorted for the peril then?

Nah still need to order some tyres! Will get pics of grey g tomo for you man. Mooch up to the unit if you bored tomo eve

seen the picture on facebook, suit the Gray G alot better, they look sexual!

May just mooch up mate, if i get moneys for the dam gas gusler!

Dynamat? Just use flashing tape, much cheaper :D It's what I'm gonna use in the G.

Who's doing your welding? I'm thinking of taking mine up to Dave and Gray to get sorted, and have a look at the bodyshop up there. Will be much easier if they can do it all there.

Matt, get up to the unit tomo. I wanna see the jap beast

Will try too, its looking a bit sorry for itself at the moment  , I've been using my spare money for the trip to maccy's and back

I'm taking up all the dynamat from the grey g.

The grey g will be going on 13 inch bbs with a set of contis and the exips tyres are going on a set of ruotes for the mk2. And suspension swappy swappy! Tez ill give u a holla in the mornin!

Grey g now back on bbs and standard g40 suspension albeit ta technix rear shocks as the oem ones were dead, and powerflex track control arm and anti roll bar bushes.

Perils now rocking a hnr cup kit with kw rear shocks and rosejointed steering arms and track control arms.

Also stonechipped all the inner arches and refitted the front arch liners.

Couple of pics after the weekends work.
