decided i cant run without arch trims, as the front arch trims extend to the trim on the front valance so it would look a little odd.

Its a must to break up the yellow imo. Sporty match,too. Cant recommend vinyl paint enough for those - texture is unspoilt,satin black finish is virtually impossible to tell apart from new plastic,its flexible and tough,and bonds straight to plastic better than primer.

hahaha had to rack me brains about where, but it for the m60 junction on the m56. yeh man i always seem to redline the coupes, ran out a few times in lisa left eye too.

i know my lesson now and keep a full jerry can in the boot, especially after running out of petrol after failing the mot, and some cops stopped right behind me! luckily they were after a person in a house and not traffic cops, cos i think any defect after or on the way to a test is a 60 quid fine

yeh I've used vht vinyl dye in the past on beenas bumpers and arch trims and theyve looked like new ever since. plus its perma black from then on as opposed to the back to black stuff you can get. we did clean then with PBA to get rid off most of the old grime, just needs some restorative colour.

and someone else said remove the trim and the rubstrip =O

rare factory optional extra that, even got it on the bill of sale, so aye as soon as i get hold of a rivet gun the arch and sill trim will get refitted, and a lil perusal of us automotive will get me a can of vinyl dye =P

but yeh I'm torn between a few things, i want to keep it original as possible, so I'm actually going to stick with the twin fog grille, normally I'm not a fan of the quad light setup, but it was part of the original look the car has had for years!

the exhaust will get replaced in time with a stainless system, was going to go for a bastuck style upswept but a 2 inch tail pipe but I'm swaying towards keeping the original tailpipe style just remade in stainless with a bigger bore.

and the rear lights, going to keep those as is but get hold of another pair to do all reds but lightly smoke the indicators.

if i had the single light grille, id probably light smoke the front headlights, but if i stick with the twin then i may smoke the fogs, so it looks semi like a single light grille if you squint and have cataracts

Back-to-black stuff is useless,lasts just a few days. Works as a brake-dust/tarnish barrier for alloys though.

I used a dye last year,came in a tiny bottle and was applied with a sponge,had to put a few layers on for coverage. Only lasted about six months though.

The stuff i used earlier this year was flexible vinyl paint in an aerosol can. It'd probably stay on tyres,but i dont think whitewalls would suit the S..

Still as new.

I've got some good acid wheel cleaner and brake dust guard, came with the supaguard kit my dad cos with his new XF, but as he gets it valeted he was happy to pass it on to me =]

the car just had 3ks worth of brake dust when it came out to tatton and changing the wheels in the morning was enough work for me so they werent cleaned, they will be going on the golf anyway when the oz routes come, and they to be honest are going to be a pain to keep clean, but less so than when i had them painted in white.

Car is looking tippy top. With them new shoes on it will look even better :-)

Don't waste money on lowering topcaps. Biggest let down ever. Don't think the ones rich put on did anything at all. Just wop a coil off and save yourself £20 or whatever they are.

You need a yellow colour concept interior in there :-)

i had a pair on the red coupe s and it definatly sat slightly lower on the front

In terms of the front suspension set up i want to do the following over time

bonrath top mounts

lowering top caps

G40 steering arms and TCA's

Gladersiete TCA bushes & ARB Blocks.

but will probably end up getting another subframe

edit: that was with a 60mm HnR kit with 10mm caps, the yellow peril has a 60mm KW kit

and thanks for the comments barney, i was actually looking at alexg40s interior but then I'm thinking, noooooooo! i kinda want to keep some of the originality of the car and the interiors got the bolsters, and in good nick, despite 120k miles teh drivers bolster isnt excessibly worn, or torn. but they are a world apart in comfort compared to the konig buckets or the leather recaros i had in the golf

Unlucky move there. Got a pretty good bonnet at the old folks' home, but it's silver, you're welcome to it if I can think of a clever (or pikey) way of getting it to you (anyone know if a bonnet fits in either a coupe s or a rocco?). Likwise I think that there's a fair condition black one at the unit off the lamented mooneyes mk2.

prob just borrow chars black bonnet for the time being and well grab the silver one to paint up when we grab the hk engine and bits for the crashbot

nah its not too bad on mine, the grille was pushed back which bent the top and bottom lips (single skin and they folder over slightly), passenger headlight needs popping out slightly and the cardboard that sits by the front panel and rad got pushed back and bent a few fins on the rad, but all in all cars came out pretty well, chassis legs are all straight and sweet as a nut

her car had a few scuffs on the bumper, rear light thats a bit loose, made the number plate light explode and there seems to be a fuck off huge crease in her spare boot well which doesnt really co-incide with the visible damange on her case, so hopefuly that wasnt me.

we both dont wanna go thru insurance so i asked her to get a few quotes and let me know!

still fannying about with the insurance over the golf as the witness is "too busy" to reply apaprently, need to phone her up tonight and ask her politely to get the fuck on with it!
