Those are proper rot boxes. My bro had a white J reg and a later purple n-reg and both had rust in the arches. Those wheels do make it bearable on the eye though :biggrin:

haha, I touched the arches on mine and a huge chunk fell out in my hand so ever since then I've just left them alone.

Giorgio - My bready has gone. Got kicked out the unit and it was a choice between a bare Polo shell and a half built Lupo.... and the Lupo won. Mitch took me out in his GTI'd throttle bodied Lupo a couple of days ago so after that I decided I needed to keep up so I've been trying to work out what I need and what I don't need to stick the G40 engine in my Lupo. He likes that idea, he doesn't much like the Astra though.....

I'm not matte blacking it. I'm not going for a all out show car look as you can probably guess. I want it to look a bit ratty but not to the point where it looks like a wreck. Although thats kind of happened now that the tailgate is fire damaged to foook!

It will go lower, but only once the Lupo is done. Don't want to have something so impractical and low for a daily cause all you end up doing is fixing it on a daily basis.... like the Volvo! We've kind of worked out how to make it lower though. Has a weird front suspension set up. Not to dissimilar to a mk3 Polo tbh.

The biggest problem is the exhaust because it goes over the rear axle and with it being lowered the axle and exhaust just clatter off each other all the time. I'm going to cut the bastard pipe off tomorrow I think. Well, I'm going to take it off cause if its to loud then I'll just put it back on. I didn't want to have to put a sidey on it but it looks like I'm going to have to. With any luck I'll be putting the tyres on my new rims so I'll ask the guys at the garage if I can chuck the car up on the ramp while they sort my tyres.

I could but then it would just be dragging along the floor all day which is no good. No good out of the front wing, will be louder than the Volvo.

This is why I don't want it to be as loud or as low as the Volvo. Listen to how many times it bottoms out and thats just going down my front street which as you can see is pretty smooth and flat!!

Alloys on what? The Volvo, it had alloys on it and there 5x120 n00b.
