I've literally had the car for nearly a month now.. I bought it as a second car and on a whim. Now I've come to realise I barely get any time to myself due to work commitments. No point in having a car worth a lot of money sitting on the driveway, even if it does look rather good on it

The car itself has had major work done on it, as shown in the spec list below. It was owned by an enthusiast (had a build thread on club gti and attended many shows, not sure if the build threads still on here), who went to work on the WHOLE car, with a receipts folder many inches thick, with receipts for £3000 new engine and rebuild, £2500 full respray and much more!!

The car's shell just ticked over 166,000, but the engine has only done 30,000, which are shown on the receipts.

This is an exceptionally mint car with thousands of pounds spent on it. It has almost every MOT from new, and every part and labour cost is receipted. There's a massive folder full of paperwork and receipts. Has recently had new power steering rack, new gaiters, and recent service.

Onto the not-so lovely parts..

It's a 20 year old car so there will be some, like ALL cars!

Put in a new battery a few days ago!

As the car had a new steering rack, it could really benefit from tracking being done!

If you look at the photo bucket pictures, you may notice that the car needs slight attention to the passengers side front arch, a previous owner had drilled it in (Why I do not know!!) Its just literally a case of buying that specific arch (tons on e bay!) and bonding it on.

Also the front bumper has lost a few clips (clips are no more than a couple pounds from GSF or Eurocarparts, and is slightly askew, also can be visible from a front-on picture, if you view my photo bucket.

In addition to that, the bumpers could do with a touch of "Back to black" bumper shine!

To be honest, the whole car could do with a good clean and polish!

The previous owner had the car sat on its bottem for ages..(he has an E46 M3, E39 and another daily, so the Mk2 got no love unfortunately!)

The BBS RM wheels are in decent nick, the lips need a good polish, some bolts have rust, could just sand off, the spokes themselves are perfect! the centre caps have slight chippings.

The sprinter vent wasn't welded amazingly to be honest, as shown in the pictures on photo bucket, and the boot plinth also.

Its been booked in to do the gear linkage on thursday so should be done by then!

There is general wear and tear within the interior, fag burns here and there, but its a 20 year old car and the seats are generally very good! drivers bolster has been stitched up..but these are ELECTRIC RECARO's VERY RARE!! and could fetch you a pretty penny if you were to sell on!

Also, V5 is due any day soon, but DVLA are a pile of dogs so i could just forward on the V5 if you're in a rush after sorting a contract / receipt of some sort out.

The problems above are not expensive problems at all (max £50-70) and don't really take away from the car, it still holds a mean presence on the road and it does look very good!!

if you were after a totally perfect show winning mk2 you'd be paying a hell of a lot more than this!! this is pretty much near show piece, just a couple little niggly, yet cheap fixes and your there!

It had an oil change a week ago..

In breaking parts alone the car is worth the asking price (things like the Electric recaros, BBS RMs, TSR 4-2-1 manifold, Supersprint Backbox, you could make majority of your money back), so couple in the fact that its got 6 months tax, and full mot, its ready for cruising this summer, how can you complain!!?
