But now i wouldnt be without my 8v, will be going better once the G40 gets put in there this time next year.

i`ve just gone 19 and have 1 year no claims bonus, 6 points and lost my licence, but now have it back again and pay £839.40 with admiral on 10 month bonus accelorator with parent on my policy. i have the 1.6 8v and love it. gets really good fuel consuption and isnt that slow a friend has a valver and it not massively faster.

Yea basically your with Elephant as they all owned buy the same Group,

But this is the debate amoung us all with this 1.6 keeping up with a 1.4 16v, it will till about 100 then the 16v continues to about 120ish if that, but the 1.6 does have more torque and i guess could be remaped with a complete stainless steel system and proper induction kit.

This is why i aint sure weather to look for a 1.6 or a 1.4 16v, but atm 16v is winning!

To be fair if you can afford the insurance difference a 1.6 has nothing going for it over a valver

^^ how do the 1.6 have more torque...

I'm a virgin agen , instead of being raped for money just payin under 700 age 21 with 3 crashes no no claims , virgin car insurance ftw , gota 1.6 glx btw

^^ how do the 1.6 have more torque...

they do don't they? 94lb-ft compare to 100lb-ft

Exactly, being 8v.

please don't tell me your implying that it has more torque because its an 8v?

ah but its still pretty poor as the 1.6 is larger capacity
