Camber

Featured Replies

I been running washers for a few months ain't had no probs apart from high speed wobbles when cornering(pretty scary). What you gota remember thou guys when a stud axle is bolted to an axle it relise on the bolts to hold it in place also the frition(pressure) caused between the 2 surfaces. When you use washers to increases the gap between the surfaces and puts more strain on the bolts.

I hate camber on some cars

i know some cars have to to get tyres in archers but some just do it and look shit..

not a fan of camber :(

Were can i get longer stub axle bolts from.

Any nut and bolt shop should be able to make you some up

they need to be high tensile bolts, 8.8 toffee bolts from your local hardware store wont do.

10.9 atleast, if you dont understand, hopefully the guy in the shop will.

Well whoever it is is all kinds of wrong lol!

 the car in the pictures looks like it's been crashed, why you'd make your car look like that on purpose is beyond me.

That is a MAYOR problem if you ask me

it becomes a major prob when you crash lol jk.ave now removed to washers, would rather the sound of tyres rubbing then losing the back end all the time. Camber increases the WOW factor!! But all so the Ouww Factor. :paranoid:

Negative camber reduces oversteer/understeer on the wheels it's put on.

Although these example haven't really been done properly and dont serve much purpose other than looks.. I know of alot of owners of CTR's, Glanza's etc that tune theirs up to like 2.5 degrees for proper handling..

i run widetrack parts and 4 degrees on the front of my track golf, then again golf suspension was designed properly. haven't had any problems with oversteering or loosing the back end.

Its the same as lowering I'd guess. If you lower your car to a point it will handle well. Once you start going past that point it'll have the opposite effect and start making the handling worst.

you would save stupid amounts just putting washers on and in the end the bolts will still secure it all in place haha:)

errrr NO!

putting washers in increases the load on the bolt in the shear axis

the bolts arent designed to take that load so have the increased potential to snap esp if they are 15 years old and torqued incorrectly which I'm fairly confident they would be having read some of the diy antics on here.

This thread scares me in so many ways.
